Trimaginator allows you to unleash your creativity and transform your photos into unique Works of [ Poly ] Art!
▲ Also available on iPhones & iPads!
▲ Winner of the Platinum Award for "Best Entertainment App", Best Mobile App Awards - Summer 2015
Trimaginator is inspired by the triangulation invented by the mathematician Boris Delaunay in 1934. To put it simple, the image is reduced to its essentials and turned into a triangle mesh. Think cubism, think surreal geometric landscapes, think turning your face into a logo, or your cat's face, or well, anything that has or doesn't have a face.
Unlike most low poly apps, Trimaginator goes beyond the simple triangulation to provide you with a unique blend of geometric and style controls, and if you're a professional graphic designer you can also export the vectors to use with Adobe Illustrator™, Adobe Photoshop™ or any software of your choice!
After selecting an image, open the top right drawer and click on a point generator to instantly turn your picture into a triangle mesh, then tweak the result with your fingers by adding [ + ] or removing [ − ] points, or start drawing points from scratch [ × ] if you're feeling wild!
Icing on the cake, you can modify the general look of your composition [ bottom left panel ] while making all these geometry changes... How cool is that?
So what are you waiting for? Just play around and see what you can come up with!
• PDF vector export included
• Various geometry ( point ) generators ranging from high-quality shape recognition to abstract composition algorithms
• Tons of rendering styles including rounded triangles, circles and gradient fills!
• Manual point editing
· Load a picture from your hard drive
· Draw, erase, toggle intersection points
· Easily change point generator settings by clicking repeatedly on their icons
· Point density modifier
· Rendering style modifiers : blending and outlines
· Save image in original resolution
· Export vectors in PDF file format

Very good. Could be great if the interface was more robust
I’m giving this 4 stars because after playing with it for a while it works very well… but… Dear developer: Decide if you want to create useful applications, or if you want to create an original, never-before-seen interface concept. The latter is almost never a good idea in software. There’s apparently no “undo” which is really a problem. This application also runs in a maximized window mode which takes over your whole screen and has very little in the way of instruction. That having been said… once you discover that you can draw on the screen in certain areas to increase the polygon resolution (something that really needed explanation btw) the app becomes very useful. With a little work you can get some great images out of this app. I just wish the dev had thought more about actual industrial use cases and less about creating a cool UI.
Great but has room for improvement
I bought this app to easily triangulate a photo I took to make an album cover. I wasn’t expecting much. I was very happy to find it exceeded my expectations and I use it about once a week now just to be creative and have fun with it. I love the filters and that I can manually change the triangles. A+ for that. I have three issues with it though. I don’t like that it forces you to use it in full scale mode. I also don’t like that it doesn’t have a menu bar. Another thing I don’t like is that I can’t select an individual triangle and change it’s color from what the program picked.
Interesting Filter—Think Different
Actually, quite good at what it does. There is a wee bit of a learning curve, but once accomplished things really get interesting. I wish the app would not takeover the entire screen upon launching. The GUI is different with controls being at the four corners of the app. Filter results are stunning with a myriad of solutions (I enjoy the “connect the dots” filter). It will be interesitng to see what other apps this Developer produces in the future.
