The biggest thing I want to do is share my trip so multiple people can contribute but it forces me to look up a user name. When someone else downloads the app to create a user name it forces them to pay again (even though it says we shouldn’t need too)

Hi, I think this comes down to a mix-up between two different features. If you want people to see your trip, that's free. The "Generate Share Link" button on the invite screen creates a link anyone can open, no account or payment needed. Inviting by username is for editors, meaning people who add their own photos and journal notes to the trip. Editors each need a subscription because they're full contributors, the same way most collaborative apps charge per editor. The app doesn't promise free editing anywhere, but I get that the two options sitting on one screen can blur together, so we're making the wording clearer. In the meantime the free view link will do what you described wanting, and we're at support@tripmemo.app if you need support. Hopefully this explains the setup better than the app did, and if so, we’d really appreciate you giving the review another consideration. As a small team these reviews mean a lot to us. And we are genuinely trying to make TripMemo the best app it can be and updating with new improvements frequently. So if anything else isn’t working the way you’d expect, email us directly and we’ll help you out. Thank you.

This app seems super appealing in the marketing materials but doesn’t live up to its promises. It isn’t free to try. To see what a mock entry looks like it requires subscribing. I went ahead and subscribed as it looked promising but was very disappointed. It uploaded all photos from a prior trip in one day, not separating them by days as advertised. It didn’t automatically show the photo location in a map. I needed to add location manually. The entry link created to share with others who I want to view the entries requires that recipients create an account in the TripMemo app and tries to get them to subscribe every time they access it. This is not the experience I want for those just trying to follow my travels. I will not be using this app and don’t recommend it to others. I regret subscribing.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write this. We are genuinely sorry your first experience wasn't what you hoped for.You were on version 1.3.5, and we're now on 2.0.1 with a lot changed. Bulk uploads now group photos by day automatically, location auto-detection has been rebuilt (if your photos had location stripped by iCloud's "Optimise Storage" or by being shared via Messages, that was likely why it didn't map — we handle this more clearly now), and we're actively working on public share links that don't require recipients to create an account. If you're open to giving it another look, email us at support@tripmemo.app and we'll sort out your subscription and walk you through what's new. Please let us know if we can help you. We would love to make this right.
Introducing Home Screen widgets! Add trip memories, travel stats, future trip countdowns, translations, and more right to your iPhone Home Screen.
We’ve also added a brand new Stamp Camera, so you can create custom travel stamps in-app with beautiful 3D Stamp previews.
You can now share your trip route as a map card, showing your journey, photos, and trip stats in one beautiful design.
The share and collaboration experience has also been upgraded, making it easier and nicer to invite friends and build TripBooks together.
Plus, TripBooks are faster and smoother with new performance improvements throughout.
Thanks for using TripMemo!
