I have been driving for over 9 years and have close to 2 million safe miles. I decided to not get a new Rand McNally because I did not think they were updating their systems well at all post covid. I had used the free version of trucker path for years and it was absolutely fantastic. It helps with finding great places to do breaks and you could engage with other drivers about open spaces and status of weigh stations etc. So i thought i would give the diamond membership a go and use the GPS they have available. I am not sure if they are just lacking in technology, but this GPS is horrible. I was lucky to have experience and knew better than to take some of the routes they suggested, but a new driver would be in quite the pickle if they exclusively used this tool to navigate. It will take you down routes that technically may be allowed for trucks, but if you know better you would never take. It is not worth the money what so ever and new drivers with less than 2 years experience i would say get an atlas first and then use a more reputable and established gps to supplement your route planning. I hope they can improve this paid gps in the future bc i love all the other aspects of this app and the operators of the app deserve to monetize their product, its really that helpful….but i cannot say with an honest breath that at this moment i would recommend the gps.
We appreciate your encouraging review of Trucker Path, and it inspires us to work harder in enhancing our app's truck specific features. We love making your trips easier for you to manage. Please drive safe!
I’ve been subscribed to trucker for more than a couple of years. I prefer a truck gps on a phone App and not have too many devices on the windshield. I get to see most of the scenery. Trucker path has improved a lot by adding traffic lights and stop signs on its App graphics. It’s so much easier making turns by knowing the number of traffic lights or stop signs ahead of me. Trucker path takes me right into the Entrance and Exit of almost all of the shipping and receiving businesses and truck-stops. The best thing that I’ve always liked about Trucker Path is that it lets me know the amount of parking spaces that truck-stops have and if there are still some spaces left. Trucker Path never breaks down like overheating which I’ve experienced with a conventional gps device in the past. The only thing bad that I’ve experienced is that it always takes me to Rochelle, NY, from the I-95. It still thinks that there are low bridges in Rochelle, NY, but the bridges are not low anymore in Rochelle, NY. It’s really hard getting out of Rochelle, NY, because there is limited space and lots of people.
We appreciate your detailed feedback of Trucker Path's performance on your device, and we're glad to know you've found our app a reliable companion in so many things related to your trips. We'd love to look into the low bridges in Rochelle, we may have to get this updated on the backend with our customer service team. We can certainly help, please reach us at support@truckerpath.com.
This is not a secret that this is the first app many of as CDL holder get once we get on the road. Check the WS status, history, reviews, parking spaces. Everything is wonderful. However I don’t understand the new parking system. It just doesn’t make sense. For a longer time all we had is empty, somewhat full, and full. Which was fine. But the this new way of selecting parking availability came up when we can check even more in depth, more increments in showing how full the parking is. Which is better. However why do these increments work only when updating the status but it still show the “old” way of empty, somewhat full, and full. For example, if most people selected 3/4 full when updating the status and someone, who’s looking for the parking, decides to check the status it will show him “full” or completely red. Well, it doesn’t make sense. When I update the status I didn’t intend to show that it’s “full” I intend to show “3/4 full”. In other words the updating system and the status system should look the same. So when one is looking for the parking, it would be possible to see that parking space is 95% full, not just red. For instance, (real life) there are around 10 parking spots on this huge track stop. Let’s call it 97% full. If enough people mark it 9/10 full, it will be visible. But it it will just show “red” (full) it’s useless for people in need of parking and it’s just interpreting it wrong.
To review any establishment, weigh station, etc. you must now choose a star for the place you are reviewing to allow you to post. They changed that in an update but just glad to be able to review. I just wish they would somehow let all users know it because the reviews have definitely dropped off unfortunately. Why would I pay when people can no longer review places?! Reviews are getting scarce since the update. Since the update if you don’t pay for the premium version you can update weigh stations as open or closed but can no longer comment in the reviews if they are inspecting or other to notify other drivers. This means meant less reviews. Even if I decide to upgrade to the premium so that I can review them I still won’t be getting the same feedback as people that would normally review of inspecting or other things are going on can no longer do so if they are not paying for the premium service. This apples to restaurants, rest areas, parking etc. REVIEWS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE FREE OR PAID THAT HAS THIS APP. That assures the premium subscribers are getting their money’s worth out of it. Very disappointed in the change. There are many ways to benefit than taking review privileges away.
Hello, sorry to learn that you're dissatisfied with our latest release. We truly appreciate this honest and constructive feedback. Users are now encouraged to sign into their respective accounts so we can monitor and manage the reviews submitted for places. All users whether on a free version or have a subscription are allowed to leave reviews or comments since it supports our fellow truckers in their daily haul. As for updating the status of weigh stations, our dev team is already reviewing this section since it has affected the majority of users. We'll appreciate the continuous support while improvements are underway. Thanks again and have an excellent day.
Way over priced for what you get. It will give you the nearest truck stop or parking area but even that has issues. You can be driving away from that stop and rather than showing what’s next it will keep showing you that stop. I want to know what is next in the direction I am driving and on the route I am on. You will be driving thinking that a certain place is coming up. Nope, on a different route or down a different path. It favors certain places as well. Will not show multiple stops at the same exit. Next, the app will glitch out and send you either in a circle or the wrong direction. It wasn’t there when I planned it but it decides without informing you that it is deciding to take you on a wild goose hunt. One headache after another. I paid for a month and had to stop using it because of the stress it was causing me. There are way better less frustrating FREE apps that i prefer. The little bit those mess up I can handle. At least they don’t decide to take me on a magic trip that wasn’t planned. And if they do switch they ask and give information about the new route so that you can make an informed decision. Do yourself a favor. Don’t waste the money on this. I almost threw my phone out the window of the truck it was that bad. This app cost me time and miles exceeding the $30 monthly price tag that I will never get back.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We have not had this issue reported to us before, and we'd certainly like to work this through for you. Could you share the details at support@truckerpath.com? And any relevant screenshots would be immensely valuable.
I am a returning customer. When I ended my subscription the customer care team reached out to me and asked why I no longer a customer. I said it’s way too expensive for a navigation system that I don’t own. Now I miss having trucker path and I use both my garmin and trucker path. This app offers so much more than a garmin offers. Trucker path also has better routes than my garmin. I use both now and I love it. I edit my garmin to trucker path routes. Using trucker path saved me several times for almost running out of hours. It tells you if parking is full or many spaces available. If weight station are open and if the offer over night parking. This is a great app. It is very well worth the money. I’ve tried every free trucker navigation app out there. This has them beat by far. You get what you pay for. This is top quality and paying for quality is worth the money . If you have any doubts about this navigation system PM me and I’ll clear you of any doubts. Buy the app it’s so worth it. Sorry I ever left.
We're glad to have you back! We're thankful for your consideration and for giving Trucker Path another chance. It is also refreshing to know how our app pairs well with your Garmin. Please drive safe and kindly spread the word!
This is one of the best apps for monitoring truck stop parking availability, weigh station status, and fuel prices. Brilliant user interface, just as well as it is user friendly. I personally recommend it for any trucker out there who has a tablet or cell phone handy, and wants to use it as part of their equipment, as it can be extremely useful. My issues were with my premium features, particularly “Night Mode”, and not being able to get them to work. However, the developer was quick to respond to my rant of frustration and helped me figure it out. Initially, I thought you had to sign in to restore your purchases... something I couldn’t do, because I didn’t have an account, nor would it even allow me to establish one either. If you are having trouble getting your purchased features to work, tapping on the “Your Account” heading and then “restore purchases” at the bottom of the screen, corrected this issue for me.My apologies to the dev, if I came across as being rude. This is what stress does to an old man like me hey lol.
Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback, we're glad to be of service! Don't hesitate to ask us any questions at support@truckerpath.com. Have a nice day!
I’ve been using this app for a couple years. I liked the simplicity of it but now there’s too much stuff on the active map navigation screen. Maybe make options to choose what you want on your screen. Also, now that there’s more stuff on the screen, the box that shows the next turn or instruction minimizes and if you want to see it, you have to open it manually. We are driving, we want the important information to be shown at all times. Second part of my complaint: The app just crashes or freezes the last few days. I did the update today but it’s still crashing. To the other user that said this app brings you through town and to the wrong entrances: you can choose the entrance you want it to bring you to and if you trip plan correctly, you will be able to avoid downtown/congested/busy areas. I use 3 systems, Garmin, this app, and the company navigation…but before anything, I look at Google earth to see my route and where I’m entering. All 3 of my systems have given me wrong directions in the past (yes, even Garmin). My routes usually end up being a combo of all 3. The app is still good for finding parking and other locations.
I have had this app for several months. It worked well the $30 package. I don’t know if I use it to its fullest but it worked for me until recently. It has been seven days and my app has not worked. There is no customer service that helps or get the problem solved…. they just keep telling me to delete the app and start it over. Turn off your phone. Turn it on have been doing this several times a day and that is not working.. but I can tell you what works… is the automatic payment that go through my account once a month for $30. I am beyond frustrated! I have asked him to either fix the app so I can use it or refund my money back now no one is communicating with me. I would appreciate if someone from this company could get in contact with me that would be lovely! I will update to inform if I have been refunded or if they get the app to work for me.
We're sorry to know you've had difficulties with both the app, and our support team in getting your app fixed. This should not be the case with your billed membership. Trucker Path is now running on its latest app version of 6.2.4, and we've included fixes on app crash, glitches, and static screen issues. If you're app is updated with this version, you should be able to run it with no difficulties. If that's not the case we'd love to further help. Please reach us at support@truckerpath.com.
I like Truckerpath but there is just too much they are trying to do at once without getting any one thing 100% solid. The eta’s have been 100% dead on but the routing is questionable with odd exits and re-entry to highways. The trip planner is a great tool. I use it weekly when I’m planning my trip for the next week. The biggest issue with the planner is if you’re just planning a trip, say a few days before the actual trip, I get the ETA to my starting point which skews the entire trip. Then entering times for departures, breaks, dwells and appointments doesn’t seem to calculate as I was hoping. Say I enter my first appointment time, I can’t get the planner to calculate when I should leave my start point. Lots of trial and error. I see a lot of truck stops on the map but aren’t highlighted in the bottom corner, only those with fuel price discounts seem to be highlighted. Lots of potential but also lots of issues for the price. Going to look at downgrading from Diamond or look at another planner app.
We hear you and appreciate your feedback with Trucker Path's recent performance and feature enhancement. We're sorry to know these are not working well for you, especially the routing, trip planning, or the accuracy of the ETA's. As for Truck Stop listings, all places of interest that offer fuels still have their fuel prices displayed the access may just differ, though as of now we prioritize places that offer fuel discounts as an incentive to truck drivers.
