Trumpet Studio 5.0 adds a full Play the Blues video tutorial, brings the podcast to the lock screen, and puts your recordings where the app has always said they were. NEW • Play the Blues — a complete video tutorial, now in Video Lessons. • The Metronome counts the beat out loud, so you can keep your eyes on the music instead of the screen. • 12/8 joins the time signatures, for shuffles and slow blues. • A two-hour preset on the Practice Timer, for the long sessions. IMPROVED • Episodes keep playing when the screen locks, and the lock screen, AirPods and CarPlay controls all drive them. • Your recordings now appear in the Files app, under On My iPhone > Trumpet Studio > Recordings — exactly where My Recordings says to look for them. • VoiceOver reads the fingering chart's staff aloud, naming each note and speaking its sharps rather than skipping them. • The floating practice timer says what it is, and what it is counting. • Reduce Motion is respected everywhere the app animates. • The Practice Bar's section links stay whole and readable at the largest accessibility text sizes. • A finished episode starts again from the beginning instead of sitting at its end. • Studio Notes tells you plainly when you are offline, instead of showing an empty page. • A new app icon. • Feed loading, artwork and recording mixdowns all moved off the main thread, so nothing stutters while they run. FIXED • The last page of a book scrolls clear of the Practice Bar instead of hiding behind it. • A podcast feed that comes back empty no longer wipes the episodes already on screen. • Ending a practice session with your finger still on the button no longer counts it twice. • Blues Play-Along no longer offers to resume a take it cannot resume. This release requires iOS 27 or macOS 27. If you are on an earlier version, 4.3.4 remains available and will continue to be offered to you.

Trumpet Studio is rebuilt for the new look of iOS 26 and macOS 26, with fixes for several display problems that arrived with it. FIXED • The Metronome no longer runs off both edges of the screen on iPhone. The tempo and time signature controls stack on narrower screens, so the beat lights and the START button stay where you can reach them. • The largest books — Complete Arban, Tabakov Vol. 1 — no longer freeze the app while they open. They now load in the background with a progress indicator. • The clock, Wi-Fi and battery are visible again on the Practice Timer, on both iPhone and iPad. • Blues Play-Along shows its title again. • Article text on Mac is sized to read comfortably. • Some controls were picking up the system blue instead of the app's own. The colour is consistent everywhere now. IMPROVED • A new app icon, rebuilt in layers so it catches the light on the iOS 26 Home Screen. • The now-playing, recording and playback speed bars use the system's new floating bars, so the page keeps scrolling underneath instead of being cut off behind them. • Practice Timer controls are built from system materials and now follow Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast. • The tempo arrows on the Practice Bar sit side by side with more than twice the tap area, without making the bar any taller. • Nothing translucent is ever laid over a page of music. The Practice Bar and the book toolbar stay solid, so the notation underneath is never disturbed. • Consistent list styling across Blues Play-Along, Podcasts and Recordings, a proper empty state on iPad and Mac, and a tidier sidebar. Send a study to your printer at full resolution, AirDrop it to a student, or save it to Files — the actual PDF, not a picture of one. Recordings Survive Phone Calls A call arriving mid-take used to leave you with a recording that quietly stopped capturing while the timer kept counting. Now the take pauses and says so, with everything you played safe on disk. Pick it back up and keep going, or save what you have. Practice Tools Stay Out of the Way Starting the metronome, finishing a practice timer, or earning a celebration no longer plays over a podcast you're listening to.
