  • Works as stated BUT consistently crashes.

    Cybertechman

This app does consistently recognize my TV where as other similar apps fail to find it, and it plays my music on my phone perfectly, BUT..... The app crashes consistently after about 1 to 2 minutes of launching it, and when I play music, after about 30 to 45 seconds of starting a music file playing on the TV. It crashes, then, about another 30 seconds after it crashes, my TV says there is a disconnection, the music stops playing, and it switches back to regular TV. The app is a very good app that works as described, but the key is when it works. The reason I’m giving it 5 stars is because, if the crashing bug can be fixed, it will be a top app, plus, it is the only app I have found that will play music on my TV without an “Unrecognized Codec” error coming up on the TV.All other apps I have tried that actually recognize my TV end up with that “Unrecognized Codec” error coming up on the TV when I press the button to cast music in those other apps which totally makes no sense because the TV is not doing any legwork other than to play the audio while the app does the actual legwork of playing the music file and getting the audio to the TV so that the TV doesn’t have to figure out how to do it.When I press the button in this app to cast the music, it immediately starts playing with no problem and with perfect audio quality. If this app can do it then the rest of the apps out there should be able to do it also. It’s just that after about 30 to 45 seconds of the music starting to play, the app crashes, and about 30 seconds after that, the music stops playing, the TV then says there is a disconnection, and then switches back to regular TV.This app just needs the crashing bug fixed, and will then it be a killer app.

I can’t tell if it is a Scam or Deficient programming but I paid to remove adds yet I still have them and they want let you get out of them. I continually try watching 10 second videos and it will play a couple videos then an add will pop up on your screen and not allow you to X out of it as your tv starts blaring what ever program you had it on before you started the app. At the same time on your phone you have to watch the whole advertisement as you continually try to X out of it anywhere from 5 to 15 times then it automatically re-directs you to the App Store to download or buy the advertised app and you can’t go back to the TV Assist app so you have to cancel then start all over by clinking on the app you’ve already paid for.If you use this app don’t bother paying to remove adds and steer away from anyone that has been on this app that may be mentally unstable.

  • Perfect for me

I've been wanting to blast music from my iPod for a long time, but since I messed up my headphone jack and I don't own a dock it's always been a problem. I spent all day trying the other free Smart TV apps and none of them work properly. I downloaded this one and it's perfect! Good quality, volume control, no huge delays... I can even switch to other apps and leave it running in the background (it finishes the song but won't switch to the next one until you go back to the app). Only thing is the 1 minute wait time after a few songs... but if you share the app to one email (I use my own) you can play 30 songs straight with no problem~

  • It actually works! And simple too.

After downloading 5 or 6 of these TV casting apps and all of them not working with my stupid Samsung SmartTV, I was all but given up hope. This was a complete surprise that this app really works. The ads are annoying and there is no option to hide the file name at the beginning of each picture, but for free I cannot complain too much. Maybe after a month of use and it doesn’t annoy me too much, I might fork out the money and actually pay for this app. Which is saying a lot from this cheapskate —> me.

The file name was displayed by TV, we can't do anything, :(

  • Didn't play any of my files

I have a Synology NAS on a home network. I have Ubiquiti AC pro Wifi access points. I play stuff off my NAS to my computers with VLC all the time no problem. I installed this app on my iPhone 6 after searching "DLNA" in the App Store. This app sees the NAS and lets me navigate the folders, but when I try to play something, I get a loading gear for a few seconds and then nothing. I tried many different files with using many different codecs and containers. Nothing. Tried killing all apps, rebooting the phone and trying again. Nothing. I tried a few other apps and came across Ace Player which played everything flawlessly. It even saw the NAS when I used OpenVPN to get to my network from the outside. Not sure what's up with "TV Assist," but it didn't work at all for me.

  • Works Great!

This apps works great and sets up quickly. I spent 6 bucks on another app that was supposed to be made for my brand of tv before finding this one. Well I lost $6 on the first app-it took the longest time to sync the device to the tv-but this one is worth the few dollars to have the premium features. I can show my iPhone pics and videos recorded on my phone with a quick set up. The ability to use the paint feature and cast a note or drawing for my wife to the tv is not a neat addition that I didn't expect. I'm enjoying this app!
