Pay before trying waste of time

I downloaded the app to see if it actually worked with my tv. Before I even tried to connect and see if it worked, it would not allow me until I subscribed and paid. How do we know it works without trying it first? I get this is how apps maintain to continue working but at least do a 10 minute trial then ask to subscribe.

I hate it

I can’t use any other buttons except for the volume what a waste of time
