Perfect Immersion Style App. Highly recommend.

The hardest leap to make in learning a language is to start to think and process information in the language you are learning. Get the feeling of immersion and moving to France from your home. The videos and diction are perfect to listen and read and learn new vocabulary (or reinforce words already learned). This app has helped me make huge strides in my listening comprehension of French. You watch videos of native speakers and respond to questions and play games. It makes learning fun, I look forward to my next lessons. The interface is intuitive and easy to use. I would like to see the existing content from the also excellent predecessor app, 7Jours Sur La Planète,
added as one module of lessons that can be chosen, even if it is old news stories. Newscasters are awesome because they speak slower and distinctly. I am impressed with the thought, quality and variety of the lessons and subject matter. Highly recommend. Do yourself a favor and download this app!

Thanks a lot for your feedback, it is appreciated. We are thinking about using the vocab from 7 jours sur la planète app in this one, we don't have a roadmap for that yet though, there is still a lot to do. If you like learning with the news, you can still find exercises of 7 jours sur la planète from A2 level, from the home within the app. Have fun!

As a Beginner, this App is wonderful. I love that it teaches useable everyday phrases and not just words. I love that the videos feature various people that helps with my listening skills because I don’t get used to one voice, tone and intonation. I use the App whenever I find myself sitting at a café or waiting for transportation. It’s very user friendly. Thank you for offering this for Free 💕💕💕

Please Bring Back The Features of the ‘7 Jours’ App

The shift by TV5 from the previous ‘7 Jours Sur La Planete’ app to the ‘Learn French’ app has been extremely disappointing. As a student of French, the ‘7 Jours’ app was excellent aid for improving my French pronunciation. It did this by providing audio vocabulary lists for each news feature as well as audio vocabulary lists of hundreds of other words in various categories.

The audio vocabulary lists that ‘7 Jours’ provided were also an excellent aid for building my vocabulary. In addition, I could practice the vocabulary I studied in the app using the Leitner method where my weakest words are tested more frequently.

Incorporating an archive of all the content from the ‘7 Jours’ app into the ‘Learn French’ app would improve its usefulness drastically. And why not provide audio lists and Leitner practice for the new news features as well?

Developer Response ,

Hi, I see that you have been with us for quite some time, and I am happy that you are still with us. We stopped 7 jours app a while ago to focus on the new Apprendre app. We know 7 jours app was quite useful, but we did not have the resources to manage those two apps at the same time and keep the level of quality that we want.
I am sorry that you find it frustrating, and I completely understand. Apprendre app has been up and running for 2 years now, and we want to keep it evolving. We would like to enrich it with similar features that you used to have in 7 jours app. Would you be interested in a little chat to talk about it? That way we will make sure those features are the right ones :) Drop us an email at to continue this conversation ;)
