The previous Tyndall app was efficient and user friendly. It was responsive and fast, with very few problems. This new app is a regression in technology. The user interface is poorly designed, sluggish, and makes enrolling in biometric identification quite a hassle to find in menus. Transactions no longer show balance changes and can occasionally appear out of chronological order. The bright white background is straining on the eyes as opposed to the old app design with off-white and navy colors; at the very least, a dark mode should be implemented in order to reduce eye strain when checking balances or making transactions in the evening. I’m all for new technology as long as it is well optimized and features better over all design. This app has neither of those. There is a list of other nitpicks, but those could be rectified in future minor updates, provided the app is optimized and improves design. Does not fit well with modern app design guidelines and truly feels like a downgrade.

A forced downgrade
The old app was easy to install and use; moreover, it did everything I needed for mobile banking. The new app is difficult to install and use. It tries to hook me into more agreements for “services” and “features” that I do not want and refuse to use. We can access our other banks and control our home (from security and cameras to lights and thermostats and dishwasher) conveniently from our phones; facial recognition securely and automatically logs us in. The new app is not as good as the old one and lags far behind the mobile competition. It is not surprising that Tyndall had to block the old app and offer a $25 bribe to get people to install the new one. An app should be easier than opening a browser and accessing a secure website; unfortunately, this is not. I strongly request that Tyndall withdraw the new app or, at least, allow customers to select which app to use — the old or the new.
New and the opposite of improved
What a complete waste of time, effort, and money. So the powers-that-be at Tyndall decided to force all users to switch over from an app that was simple, intuitive, functional, and efficient in favor of a new version that doesn’t remember usernames (so fun typing it out every single time), is horribly laid out, actually makes you insert the decimal manually when making transfers instead of functioning like every single ATM in the country since the 80’s (and the old app, I might add) where you just enter digits... the list goes on... this is what I went through the fiasco to transition to? Seriously?
Oh, best part... not even a week in - already an update with bug-fixes.
Stop replacing old stuff that works with new crap that doesn’t. You have just embodied everything that is wrong with modern culture.
But then, it IS a federal credit union... so what more should I really expect?
