Cool Idea, Still Needs Work

I hope these guys figure this out... I like the idea and would love to see things develop out in their ecosystem. There have been some weird quirks with the app like linking accounts and accessing location services; additionally there appears to be no moderation in the forums and no ability to edit/delete your own posts. I’m guessing this is still in beta... excited to see when it is fully baked.

Love the app, earn money by monetizing your data and answers to surveys

UBDI is a great way to make extra cash. It’s legit and they are really trying to make it so you can monetize your data. Surveys are available to make money in the “Earn” section. They used to have a feature that would allow us to monetize our data anonymously with a push of a button. You’d answer a few questions in a study and they’d connect it with your data, and that was it, you made money. Hopefully that feature comes back ASAP. I guess they need more users for it to work. There is also a “tribes” section on the app that is like their internal social network. Basically like Twitter/FB where you can post about different topics. For example, there’s a “crypto investing” tribe and I can actually share activity from my Uphold integration (you cash out your UBDI earnings to your Uphold account, which can manage your money in any fiat currency, gold, or crypto). I’m assuming the activity in tribes could also be monetized for us. Basically like Twitter/Facebook but the users get paid? Try it out!

Progressively worse since launch

This started off strong but has slowly gone downhill over the past year. The constant re-envisioning of the app keeps adding useless features. There are hardly studies available. The payout system keeps changing partners every few months and the terms keep getting worse. The current one, Uphold, is an app closer to Robinhood then a money transfer service. They also charge 3.99 per withdrawal which is at exorbitantly high compared to previous money transfer partners. The app may go somewhere one day so I’m keeping the account open to boost their enrolled numbers, but they are currently floundering.

In short, maybe download and keep installed if you have the extra space on your phone. Don’t expect anything good for a few years.
