So easy!
Was looking to hire a truck or van to go pick up a dining table we found on Facebook marketplace and came across this app. It was so easy! I’m, like, still shocked how easy and smooth the whole process was and even better is that It’s so affordable! The app guides you through literally every step from finding the car, opening the lockbox to uploading photos of the condition. The pricing is so straight forward and I love there weren’t a thousand extra little fees added on there like when you rent a car from a normal car rental place. Also, extra coverage was only like $7 additional so yeah, take my money. Will definitely use again!

Horrible customer service and buggy app
Renting a car with Uber car share was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. In order to add a second driver that driver needs to become an Uber car share member so my wife applied for membership so that she could also drive the car during our stay in Australia. They took days to process the application and then sent an email saying that they couldn’t accept her as a driver even though she has a perfect driving record and has been driving for about 40 years. They gave no explanation for this and told us that we couldn’t resubmit an application either. So I had to do all the driving on the trip myself which was a big pain and meant my wife couldn’t go anywhere independent of me. This was an unbelievable experience. All I can say is that I hope Turo comes to Australia before my next trip as I can’t imagine using Uber carshare ever again. Also, the app is very buggy and the check-in and checkout process was ridiculous.

We're sorry that we weren't able to approve your application. Because we're giving access to people's cars, we have to be more cautious than a corporate car hire company. Our criteria are so strict that we may end up declining good people, and to protect the security of the process we can't give any details of why an application was declined.
100% great experience
This service is fantastic. I have used car next door many times, and always found the cars terrific, and the app working perfectly. If you’re not sure about it, give it a try! It’s convenient and easy, and car sharing could have a huge impact on carbon emissions.
