1.5 years of service

I’ve been driving for Uber for a year and a half, I love it 💕 it gives me the opportunity to make quick cash, never had a complaint but today I just had enough of the customer service we get from Uber...I had an incident with a passenger that was being very rude, I called customer service to complain about the rider and I was told by Armando to learn to forgive and forget! Are you kidding me? Let alone the fact that Armando didn’t speak much English, he didn’t know what obnoxious meant, he kept asking me to repeat myself over and over! Needless to say that the passenger complained about me and of course, her complaint was put on my profile and my rating went down...that is extremely unfair, after one a half years of service getting 5 stars and complements from good riders I couldn’t get the help I needed from one incident...in my humble opinion you should protect us from riders that think we owe them the world when in reality, us the drivers are doing them a hell of a favor! We put tons of miles in our cars, they have no respect for our properties, the don’t care about leaving trash in our cars, and on top of that they are given the privilege of complaining if we tell them to pick up their trash and take it with them...of course we are very rude for asking them to take their garbage out, but the sad part is Uber sides with them not us!

Grateful

I am grateful for this opportunity to earn money on a very independent level. After retiring I just could nor would not want to return to the drudgery of a mandatory 9-5 job. “Uberring” affords me the leeway I require to earn money at my own pace. I set my schedule according to my lifestyle and that is key to living a happy, independent lifestyle. So, along with the earnings I also get to meet interesting people and encounter different locales I probably would never had ventured to. If I can promote one concern is that Uber should give back to communities who suffer catastrophic conditions. Living here in Panama City, Fla. we suffered heavily with the onslaught of Hurricane Michael. When the National Guard was here they were living in tents at the airport. I picked up two members, a man and a woman who were going to a local cell phone company, dressed in civies and after I dropped them off I felt terrible charging them for the trip. I told them I would wait for them and the return ride would be on me. They were so happy. At the end of the ride I thanked them for their service and they said Ma’am thank you for your support! I also gave free rides to a woman and her baby walking to get water. I just think Uber is making so much $$ that they have to remember to pay it forward. Always!

Need improvement for security

Before I start with the security matter that concerns me I would like to highlight the fact that I put a destination that I was going to and what happened was that the gps put me trips that took me far away from where I was heading to and also I didn’t make it on time which shouldn’t be happening.

Know the security concern, I live and drive in Miami. I started doing uber about a week ago and on my first day I picked up a person who was heading to the airport and started complaining because I was delayed dropping her off but it was because of the gps. It took me to a street one way to the right and the gps was telling me to take a left. At least I was familiar with the area and I could make a turn even though the person was complaining because I wasn’t taking the route the uber app was showing to her and to myself as well. But it could cause a huge accident, plus the gps is not very clear at the time of using it. Even though is not recomendable to switch apps I’d rather use Waze instead of the Uber navigation since the route directions can be confusing sometimes and the customers gets mad because I as a driver didn’t took the correct ways. Last but not least we should have the opportunity of having unlimited destinations to take more advantage of the app and other placed rather than only home. Otherwise, the app works really well overall.
