Best Bank IMHO!
I really have only had great experiences with UFCU since my wife and I became members over 5 years ago. The staff at the credit unions have always been polite and they even go out of their way to help us with loan and banking information, basically they tell the truth and don’t sugarcoat situations just to look out for themselves! I’ve had a few cases of fraudulent activity and both times they were on it! Outside of the physical locations their online usage is user friendly as well. I’ve had 2 issues with the app in the 5 years we’ve been banking and both times their IT department has been able to help me fix the issue no problem. FYI both times were user error, ha!
To summarize, the app does everything I need to. It’s a nice easy to use dashboard of my checking, savings, credit card, and auto loans. I can bill pay and transfer funds easily. If you are a UFCU member this is a great app! And no I was not paid to say anything, I just really am pleased and love that UFCU is our bank for life!

I Miss The Older Color Scheme
Simply put, this app is very functional, and provides all my needs, EXCEPT for a visually pleasing experience. My only complaint, and to me this is a MAJOR COMPLAINT and also the reason for the loss of two stars, is that about 1.5 years ago, on a previous build, UFCU offered a soft-colored blue background throughout the app which was visually kind and pleasant to the eyes. The current build with all the bright-white background is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING and visually painful. I always have to turn my brightness setting down on my iPhone to use the app, and I SHOULDNT HAVE TO!!! If UFCU could offer different color-schemes for the app, I would rate it higher (hint-hint, wink).

Naughty and nice
Overall, I like the functionality this app offers. It’s much easier to use than the app I have for a different credit union. That’s the nice part. Where the app gets naughty is in its color scheme. Some areas have light text on a white background. I’m sure that’s hip and contemporary and whatever else but it’s not a good combination for aging eyes, which tend to need more contrast. I needed to use the app the other day but didn’t have my glasses with me. I could read my account balances without trouble since those are black text on the white background but I couldn’t tell what the “buttons” along the bottom were because of the low-contrast scheme. A re-evaluation of the colors and contrasts throughout the app would be great for us middle-aged folks. Maybe making a high-contrast setting available would be a good compromise between aesthetics and usability.
