ULU is a word-lookup and tournament adjudication tool useful for a variety of word games, including Scrabble®, Words With Friends®, and crossword puzzles.
ULU comes equipped with both of the lexicons used in English-language Scrabble: the NWL2018 lexicon for North America, and the CSW2015 lexicon for the rest of the world.
ULU's Search page enables you to find words that match letter combinations, with or without blanks and wildcards. It also finds words matching any pattern you name, or words that contain only a subset of letters you name. You can also limit search results to show only the number of matches or to show which blanks make matches.
ULU's Judge page lets you see whether or not words you type are all valid, as you would need when playing tournament Scrabble.
ULU also includes a customizable timer for use in tournament Scrabble or in other games
* Includes CSW19 (Collins Scrabble Words 2019).
* Has larger fonts in timers.
* Improves search logic when blanks and wild cards are combined. For instance, an anagram search of QUIXOTI??@ no longer includes the request "QUIXOTIC" because at least two blanks are required.

Love it but is there any hope this app will ever include definitions?
It’s good, but...
It’s good but there is room for improvement. I’ve only been using it a few days and there have already been several times when the scrabble app’s “teacher” said there was a better scoring word I should have used - but it wasn’t even included in this app’s word list. And yes, I see that there is an option to add my own lexicon but after doing a google search, I’ve realized that there’s more to it than just searching for a “TWL06” link, and therefore, it is beyond my abilities...
In addition to including a scrabble word list, I really wish there was an option to sort the words based on scrabble scores (ie highest scoring word to the least). This is something I used very frequently with the Zarf app, which sadly, has become obsolete due to a lack of updates and it’s inevitable incompatibility to the newer OS’s...
basically, if you just copy the Zarf app & keep it updated (which, it never needed due to bugs - just so it’s compatible), u could easily charge an upgrade fee of a $1-2 and make a killing off those who can no longer use Zarf!
But that’s just my suggestion...
Developer Response ,
The official Scrabble lexicon is copyrighted, so it cannot be included in ULU. Thanks for understand.
Zarf died...I cried. Needed comparable program for my iPad. Ulu does the job. Maybe no major bells and whistles (yet?) but at least now I can sit back in my big comfy old recliner and actually (easily) figure out which stems my aging brain has misplaced! Yeah... Seth, you rock!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
