Sadly I purchased this from the apple store… (DON’T) initially the app was miissing the downloader option (to download video’s from various sites etc online). Eventually the apple store had an update and suddenly the download option was included… (obviously high priorty for me). I mean I use it for all of the other beneifts too… but with the most recent update the download option is no longer available… Now I can’t download anything and am left hoping that someone somewhere within the company of wondershare will discover this most unfortunately OVERLOOKED update…. and updates it again! FOR GOD SAKES! You can’t go to the developers website because they don’t have any way of recognizing the fact that you purchased the product via the apple store (TOTAL INCOMPETENCE - WOW!). Overall this a great app and worth the money BUT!!!! If I had to do it over again… I would purchase it from the developers website ONLY… AND NEVER AGAIN USE THE APPLE STORE!!!!

I bought this app when it still had the downloader. After a while it was disabled in order to stay in the app store. They put a disclaimer in the app that says if you want the full version you need to use the website download. Send a picture of your transaction to this email, etc. So I did and ended up in a chat with a completely clueless representative. She insisted I need my email and this and that and transaction ID (which was years ago) but apple does not supply that information on app store purchases. There is no account linked to wondershare or any transaction ID you can get. I sent pics and solid exlanation and it was on deaf ears. So I ended up buying the full version from the site angrily but I needed it for a specific project really quickly and didn't have time to waste. About a week later the agent emails me asking if I have that proof yet. As I explained at least 5 times in chat, that proof doesn't exist and I would for sure be leaving a review and let people know how all this played out. A couple days later she replied and suddenly realized I was telling the truth about the receipt and such and offered me a free download....of course after I already paid for one. Gee thanks. My advice to wondershare is to hire people who have a clue to people needs, especially one you ask users to do in your app. The app without the downloader does what its supposed to but you can get free softwrae to do pretty easily as well. Without the downloader the app is pointless unless you want to make gifs or convert videos to another format. 2 stars is for the terrible support.

This has been a regular go-to for me for many years. I've used it for simple conversions from formats I don't like, to others I prefer (mp4 typically). Simple and very good results every time. Over time I began experimenting with other features, several of which I had previously been using other software to accomplish. Compress Video has turned out to be simply magnificent! I've been able to reduce file sizes while losing very little (usually unnoticable) loss in video quality. This took some practice and experience, but the results, as I've learned to set the variables, (intended file size, resolution, format...) with every adjustment you get immediate feedback on expected video quality and what the bitrate will be. It even includes the ability to preview the result before actually doing a full compression.I have begun using the Screen Recorder, which also took some practice and time to fully master, but now that I've done so I can trash various other programs I've previously used. This program performs as well as any I've tried, and while it was a bit frustrating at first, now that I've figured it out it is easy and marvelously effective and controlable.Fix Media Metadata is another marvelously conveninet tool in the Toolbox. It gives one the ability to edit or create a set of metadata (Episode Name; Actors; Directors... and a variety of other aspects. I've not experimented with the GIF Maker but I've looked at it and it looks like had I any interest in generating GIFs this would work wonders, allowing one to use still images or segments of video.I've not experimented with the Burn feature either but I expect I'll start toying with that one as well.All things considered, I have to say that this is one of the most fantastic values I've ever seen.

I wish I’d known that purchasing direct from the developer’s website was a better option. Version-wise, it’s ahead of the AppStore, and I would prefer the updated UI, conversion speed, and other features that have been added. Contacted the developer and was disappointed to learn there is no way to switch over.If all you need to do is quickly convert an entire video file, this app does it well. If you want to ‘trim’ a portion from a video — it lacks basic functionality.Once you click the [TRIM] button there’s another [Add Trim Marker] button. Then you can drag the trim slider start and ending positions, or type them in the Start/End fields. I’d previously used a similar Windows product, Nero Recode. With Recode, once you click [TRIM], left and right marker buttons appear to the left and right of the video’s timeline slider, you move to where you want the clip to start, then click the left-trim, then where you want it to end, click the right-trim, and export. For some reason the $60 VC-Ultimate app doesn’t have start/end buttons to click based on position. To make matters worse, once you’ve gotten the positions exactly where you want them and then you export the clip — the start position is >never< what you were looking at within the app when you defined it — the exported video begins a little before what you wanted. Very frustrating :-(Also, there's a main Preferences option to edit without volume — but no volume control within the app while you’re editing. Considering the limitations of basic functionality, the app is overpriced. $5-$10 would be more appropriate.
