Still no updates…
Hopefully by next update, this app will be worth more stars and a recommendation.
This app will generate unique codes based on the characters you have entered (manual and/or pre-defined), then output the codes to a text-based file. That is it, period. That is worth your $5?
The problem is that if you use symbols (and numbers in some cases), the keys can start with those symbols(i.e.: -FF908, as opposed to FF-908).
This a problem for many reasons, but I'm just going to list two:
1) Excel (and some DB systems/interfaces) can strip off 0's or other non-alpha characters prefixing a string.
2) These are extremely unsightly and *NOT* something that you want to give out to customers/clients.
The solution is to add constraints, either on the main mainViewWindow of this app, or in Preferences (which doesn't exist yet). Something similar to: Must not begin with: number/alpha/symbol. etc.
For 4.99, this app is way overpriced (should be 0.99). You can make something almost identical in PHP or Perl with nested loop structures. All that's needed is a conditional check that the user's constraints are met, if not, toss that code.
If this app is updated with this important feature (along with others), I'd gladly change my review and recommend.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
