Take a walk around the fine city of Norwich and unlock a series of fun and fascinating augmented reality (AR) experiences that bring stories from the city’s rich and varied past back to life. The app contains everything you need for a memorable trip around Norwich – helping you see this medieval city through a brand new lens as you uncover some of the secrets and stories that make this city unique.
Augmented reality lets you see digital content overlaid on the real world through your smartphone or tablet camera. Follow the trail map to uncover each Norwich-based AR experience and see it come to virtual life in real-world context.
The app will keep tabs on your location and alert you when you’re near a place of interest or AR experience. Then simply follow the instructions on screen to see the Norwich story brought to life through your phone. By enabling notifications, the app will let you know when you’re near an AR spot, place of interest or Bluetooth beacon that offers useful information.
Great for a family day out, the trail takes you all over the city, from the market to hidden corners you might not have noticed before. It’s also designed for accessibility, so even if you don’t make it to every point on the map, you can still trigger each experience and unlock Norwich from the comfort of your own home – or wherever you happen to be.
With a 3D animated experience and written full story for each AR spot on the trail, Unlock Norwich is a fun, informative way to form a new bond with our fine city.
