Unzip - RAR ZIP 7Z Unarchiver 4+

I kept getting undefined error 0 when trying to compress logic files using the built-in utility on macOS. I tried every solution I could find online and ultimately ended up just getting a third party app to zip files. This app has saved me lots of headache when trying to correct the problems! Would highly recommend it if don't like the built-in ulitity or want something mor reliable.

Doesn't properly identify file formats or compression types - this app relies entirely on file extension, and misbehaves when it encounters unexpected data. Absolutely chokes on 7z files that the real open source 7zip utility handles fine on other operating systems. Why does the author make so many separate apps that do the same thing? To drive you to their paid version, that's why. Look at the five star reviews - praising features that don't exist, like PDF handling. Draw your own conclusions.

Update - developer says "special formats require payment" but the app claims to do 7z as part of the free features. It simply doesn't. Why pay them for 7z capabilities when the official 7z tool is (actually, truthfully) free? Clearly adware.

Update #2 - after telling me that my 7z use case was a "special format" and that "special formats require payment" the dev is now accusing me of lying. Class act. Should I quote the whole email here? Facts: I have a normal 7z file. The official 7z implementation handles it fine. When I load that normal 7z file in this tool, it claims it is nonstandard and directs me to purchase the paid version.

Hello, rar, zip, 7z, tar, gz decompression is permanently free. Your claim that 7z charges is purely a lie.

I've been trying other archiver apps for the last hour. This one is super fast (thank goodness, because I need to go through a ton of files!) compared to the other apps. It also allowed me to save the zipped file with Korean characters in the file name. Other apps require only the Roman alphabet in the file names. The quality of image files after compression decompression looks good as well. Hope this helps!
