An Essential Tool for Anyone Working with PDFs!

I've been using UPDF for one year now, and I can't speak highly enough of this app! It's a powerful PDF editor that combines user-friendly features with advanced capabilities.
The interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through all the tools. I love how I can effortlessly edit text, annotate, and even add images to my PDFs. The AI features are a game changer—summarizing documents and translating text has never been easier!
One of my favorite aspects is the seamless file management. I can easily save and share my documents across various platforms without any hassle. The speed and efficiency are impressive, making my workflow so much smoother.
Whether you're a student, professional, or just someone who works with PDFs regularly, UPDF is an essential tool. Highly recommended!

had PDF element, switched over to UPDF

I had the perpetual PDFelement plan for 3 years now. there were times when it froze up on me making it really frustrating. searching for topics would let me punch in 3 letters then itd freeze while it searches terms then proceed. Not to mention i had to pay a separate amount to get the mobile app (which works great on the ipad. its equal to UPDF in that regard).

UPDF is cheaper than most other pdf editors and it works across ALL platforms. this was helpful since i had a windows latop and a samsung phone but was considering switching over to apple and needed to know if i would have access to my comments embeded in the highlights from PDFelement. IT WORKED. all my notes transfered over, i can access on any device or operating system.

Gave 4/5 stars cause im not sure if theres a way to autosync the UPDF with my iCloud. ive lost information with PDFelement so now i try to save more frequently. maybe ill reach out to customer service to find that out. but in the last 3 weeks of using it for 9-12 hrs sometimes MORE every day 6 days a week i think this works very well. i would have encountered hickups by now.

One UPDF app to rule them all

Have absolutly loved UPDF pro. It has allowed me to go through My Emails, Documents files, and everything else including Sheets, Google Drive and other drives and begin the process of organizing, consolidating, and eliminating duplicate with ease using the online cloud feature which also has allowed me to access on my iPhone or MacBook.

Even editing PDF's has become much more streamlined having everything I need in one application. Storage, organization, editing, signing, creation. I love this app.

I only wish I had more seats so I could use on my iPad as well without having to sign one device out.

I also have discovered that when I name a PDF anything that contains a "/" will not upload. Something I haven't brought up to the developers yet but will update the interaction here once I have.

But Hands down I recommend this application. I haven't tried the Ai and doubt I will only because I don't care to use applications that are subscription based but I am sure it's great based on my experince so far.

Good, but...

UPDF is good. I use UPDF as a way to create digital forms for my clients. It is a cleaner and faster program than Adobe's offering for viewing PDF's. Making Comments and creating fillable forms. I can do 90% of what I need to accomplish. The missing features do have some work around, such as editing Tab Order, but it is why I would have to take away a star.

I had issues with the program not printing my documents clearly and within a week of connecting with their support team, their developers found the problem and have corrected the issue.

I would reccomend and know that they are working on solutions and updates to the application. Hopefully they will be able to avoid the Adobe bloat and keep this program snappy while adding a little more features (espesially when it comes to forms).

My Favorite PDF Program

I use this mainly for writing music - lyrics and output for scores. I love how the output updates in place each time you save the PDF from other editors and programs. It really gives you freedom to make changes easily, see how they look, work quickly, etc. I used to use the original PDF program, incredibly expensive and onerous subscription model to make it even worse. This program, by comparison, is lightweight, fast, and reasonably priced, by far my favorite PDF tool ever.

Pretty good, but could be better

I'll admit I don't have anything else to compare to, but I have a couple of concerns. 1) It seems only logical that we should be able to reassign tab order via some kind of list, as opposed to clicking and dragging the items around the page. 2) There's no way to resize multiple objects simultaneously. (Select multiple text input boxes or radio buttons and make them all the same height and width)
I do appreciate the snap guides. That's extremely helpful in creating clean, professional looking forms.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your detailed feedback! We appreciate your suggestions on tab order reassignment and resizing multiple objects. These are great ideas, and we’ll share them with our development team for future improvements. We're glad you find the snap guides helpful! Search not have history, edit of documents could be better

If history is present it would be helpful to look at past searches so we can efficiently use search, may be you can have a drop down to hold past history like 50 items. Editing could be improved to support more features

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for your suggestion! UPDF has supported search history since version 2.0 to help improve efficiency. If you didn’t notice it, feel free to contact us for help. We’re also continuously improving the editing features. Thanks for your support!

Poor value, no novel features

I gave this a try in comparison to PDF Expert and PDF Element. There is nothing novel about this app, and it has several deficiencies.

1. It requires a subscription but provides no more functionality than other less costly apps. PDF Expert, for example, is almost 70% cheaper and does more.

2. It cannot create and edit forms. If this app could create and edit forms as well or better than PDF Element or the even more expensive Adobe software, it would have some competitive advantage. As it stands, I have investigated the feature set and don’t see how it is differentiated from other options.

Also, it seems odd that dark mode and cloud storage are two of the five features highlighted on the app store. Those are of marginal interest or novelty in a PDF app. The free Apple Preview has dark mode and cloud storage, for example.

I don’t see the value proposition here.

PDF Compress not Working and PDF OCR only Average

I want this to be a great quality app but it is not there yet. My first interest was PDF compression, but this did not work at all for me. The "compressed" files (low, medium, high) all came out as the exact same size as the inout PDF.

The OCR feature is no better than average. I ran the OCR process on a PDF created from Kindle Reader screen shots - very clean input text - but the OCR output had 5-6 word recognition errors on every page.

Come on Developers I know you can do better than this!

OCR failed out-of-the-box

I downloaded this software to OCR PDFs that need it. I imported a PDF and the first thing the software says is, “No recognizable text was detected in the document (it might be a scanned document), please try OCR recognition and attempt again.” I searched every single menu option in the entire application and could not find anything with the letters OCR in it. It’s like the one core feature they’re advertising is missing. If there’s a way to use this software to OCR a document, it’s not obvious or even remotely intuitive. Dumb.

Developer Response ,

We’re very sorry for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced while using UPDF. OCR is indeed one of the core features of UPDF, and we fully understand how important it is for your workflow.

Please note that the OCR feature is currently only supported on Windows and Mac devices with M-series chips, and it is only available in the version downloaded from our official website. Due to App Store review limitations, the OCR function is not available in the App Store version of UPDF.

To access the full version with OCR, please download UPDF from our official website: https://www.updf.com

If you need any assistance or have further questions, feel free to contact our support team at support@superace.com. We're more than happy to help!

Thank you again for your feedback — we’re always working hard to make UPDF better and more user-friendly.
