Wherever you are, you have access at any time and without the necessity of a data connection to your U.S. embassy or consulates:
- Phone number
- Web address
With the additional buttons you can also directly
- dial the phone number of the selected embassy,
- write an email,
- go to the embassy website or
- display the location of the embassy on a map
Now you can locate your embassy or consulate much more easy: The Augmented Reality (AR) feature shows you exactly where the embassy/ consulate is located in your real environment (including the distance).
Just choose your embassy or consulate and tab on "AR" at the top right.
All addresses are stored locally on your iPhone so no Internet connection is necessary for searching and displaying the addresses.
-> This application is a must for anyone who goes on tour!
If you have any issues with the app or any info about changed addresses don't hesitate to conatct us:
- Minor fixes
- added U.S. Consulates in Spain
- added the "Consular Section" of the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, Austria
Ratings and Reviews
Great idea. Data appears innacurate or incomplete.
I like the concept and for a world traveler this will be useful. But ask the fancy AR features are useless if your data isn't accurate. I checked the country in in this week: Spain. According to US State Dept web site, there's a consulate in Barcelona but Spain isn't listed in the consulate tab. Why aren't you downloading this data directly from US government web site and making it correct by construction.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, we agree that it would be great to have a possibility to get a direct link to the data from the State Dept. Unfortunately until now there is no possibility we found which makes this possible. At the moment it is for us a manual process to keep track the changes.
As soon as we find another way we will implement it.
In any case we will eliminate inaccurate data as soon as possible.
Waste of money
Wow, that was a waste of money. 2 stars for providing ONLY the US embassy info. Seems to me the logical thing would be to include the US consulates in each country, too! If you look at the UK "embassy" app, they have embassies and consulates listed worldwide, and for the same price as this less than useful app. I want my money back!
