Would you like to be able to use the App on multiple Apple mobile devices? We have a solution for that. The Backup / Restore feature allows you to backup a copy of your collection on your iPhone, and then Restore the backup to perhaps your iPad. This makes it easy to sync your collection between your various Apple devices.

Enjoy sharing photo's of your trophies? We offer unlimited photos. Use that high-resolution camera in your iPhone to snap photo's of your coins, then Backup the collection to the Cloud and restore to your iPad for viewing.

Did we mention Reports? Yes, we have reports covering basic inventory, buy-lists, detailed financial analysis, and more. Better yet, you can choose between printing or emailing to a friend or maybe your Accountant.

New Custom Reports allow you to design your own reports, select which items you'd like to view and how you'd like them to appear. Very cool, and works across both iPhone/iPad and your Mac Computer (with US Coin for Mac).

Finally, many collectors find they are managing more than one collection. US Coin Plus HELPS with that, by supporting the option of creating multiple distinct coin collections. Have a son or granddaughter that would like to collect, no problem, we can do that. You can help them setup their collection and the two of you can exchange coins between one another.

High price and inapp purchases but meets many needs

The cost prevented me from trying this app, but after trying the others and not finding anything that lived up to what I wanted I decided to give this a try. What I’m looking for is something that will replace my ever growing spreadsheet. I wanted to file pictures of my coins (done by this app - but could be improved). Catalogue my inventory (done but could be improved). Provide references for updating estimates (done). Compare spot price for value (done). Provide multiple reports (done but not completely as advertised). So it meets more of my needs than other apps but here are my issues.
Photos, works with camera but need to take several shots to get it right. If there was a window telling me cropping (like my banking app) it would improve performance. I did find you could take photos outside of app and import them from photos. Doing this I could crop first then import.
Catalogue, because this interfaces with camera, I expected it could grab the information or at least have capabilities to copy from PCGS & NGC sites. Instead I need to type the numbers in both sites. Then type the information into this app. This is just to manual for my taste. In fairness there are limitations due to copyrights.
Multiple reports, this has many fine reports but advertises custom reports. Custom reports is in beta and when out of beta promises to be inapp purchase.
Really inapp purchases on one of the most expensive apps I own? Also, be aware the multiple collections is another purchase.
My two major complaints are: manual input and extra undisclosed costs.
I must say, in all fairness, this is the best coin app I’ve tried. If you don’t mind minor missing functionality and won’t need the extra cost items this app may work for you.
Final note: I did find the comparable MAC app. I watched the tutorials and found it very interesting. It appears to have everything I would need but the additional cost (double phone app cost) is stopping me right now. Also, our MAC is my wife’s computer, I would be more interested if there was a windows compatible offer.

Better then a spreadsheet...but

It’s not intuitive, you can’t run a report on all collections or sets. It can become frustrating trying to keep “like” issues together as it sorts coins by the point they were entered. So to keep all of your eagle coins together it is best to enter them all at once. Then start another type of coin. The app is broken with the new iPadOS update. I suggest anyone waits for any update before moving forward. The developer really needs to work on feature flow, being intuitive, and cross device syncing. Currently it only uses Dropbox which is worthless and each backup over writes the last. I have a large set of coins so it takes a long time to perform a backup. It also does not backup separate containers, only the default one so you must enter all coins into that container. If you start a collect, only start it from your iPhone or iPad, don’t plan on being able to use both.

Maybe give the app a second look. Apple changes did cause an issue in iPadOS but we resolve that in short order after you reported it.

Actually, sort order is something you can change yourself. In the first tab, click the action menu (top right, next to +) and then select Sort. You can sort by pretty much anything.

Backup's are progressive, only new images are uploaded, so it's unclear why you would state otherwise as in-fact we do perform a progressive backup. Dropbox is FREE so it's unclear why that would be a problem. Apple's iCloud does not play nicely to support both on-line and offline usage, so we chose Dropbox instead as that provides a better experience for our Customers.

We are always open to feedback and feature changes, check the other reviews and you will find hundreds of customers that are very happy.

App has issues

The app backup capability is a key feature since you will spend a lot of time adding your coins to this app. Unfortunately the ability to backup to Dropbox has issues. After adding coins to the app and backing up to Dropbox, the next time I open the app I get a prompt saying that Dropbox has changes that are not synced to my phone. If I click yes to let the app update the changes, the app actually deletes the last set of coins that I added to the app. This is a major concern if I ever need to restore the backup since it appears that it does not have all the coins that are in the app. This is a very expensive mobile app to have a feature like that not work.

Also, the backup needs the ability to sync changes. As your collection gets larger, the backup does a full backup every time and takes forever.

The insurance report option doesn’t seem to work. I tried printing a report for a 35 coin collection and the app gives and out of memory error.

In addition, this app cost $20 but if you want to sort coins into collections (groups) the developer changes another $5. This doesn’t seem right to charge for functionality that should be part of the app to begin with.

Developer Response ,

Backup only updates new photos you have added and new coin data. If you add a lot of photos, then it will take more time. Sounds like you were having problems which we could have helped with had you requested help which is readily available from within the App. See More tab, then touch the item clearly labeled Support email.
