TRUSTED BY THE WORLD’S BEST. UTR is the most accurate global tennis rating system. As seen on Tennis Channel, Tennis Magazine, ESPN, and more.
"UTR is the best way to measure yourself against all other players regardless of their age or level." - Novak Djokovic, World #1 and 15x Grand Slam Champion.
"UTR provides a standard for all players...the bigger the network gets the more beneficial." - Jim Courier, Former World #1 and 4x Grand Slam Champion
"We talk UTR in the house all the time. My 16 year old is using UTR as a motivator to keep improving." - Tracy Austin, Former World #1 and 2x Grand Slam Champion

GET RATED. All tennis players can have a UTR, which is a real-time evaluation of skill level based on your actual performance. If you’ve played a sanctioned or competitive match, you may already have a UTR, and you can claim your profile. Otherwise, get rated by easily posting a score from a casual hit or by playing matches. Then use your UTR to understand your level, find play and track your progress.

ALL PLAYERS, SAME SCALE. Whether you are a junior, high school, college, pro, adult or recreational player, all your matches count toward your UTR. UTR is the global rating for all tennis players, regardless of age, gender or nationality, on a scale of 1-16.5. Three factors go into the rating: 1) Competition: your opponent's UTR 2) Score: Games won 3) Recent history: up to last 30 matches in the past 12 months.

MAKE YOUR SCORES COUNT. Post scores anytime you play, from casual weekend play or any matches that are not already being recorded. Scores with at least 4 games to one player count toward your UTR (not Verified UTR).

LOCAL PLAY AT YOUR LEVEL. Find local level-based events and players at clubs and schools. Your results will count toward your UTR. You'll save time and money as you'll no longer need to travel long distances to play. Or if you are traveling, you'll be able to find play at your level wherever you are.

SHOWCASE YOUR GAME. Create a dynamic player profile to highlight your game and chronicle your tennis journey. Post photos and videos, share match results and find players at your level.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS. UTR is an objective metric of your current performance level that helps you track individual progress. You can see how your game is developing and can work to improve your rating.

UTR is a dream for coaches, a nightmare for players

In years to come, UTR will be the leading cause for burnouts in tennis. In sports, the objective is to win, but not anymore. Kids are now sweating bullets every game they play because they‘re aware that every game they lose will impact their rating. This is terrible for the sport. Players are withdrawing from tournaments at an alarming rate just to avoid unfavorable UTR matchups.

On top of this, the algorithm is currently flawed. Players’ ratings across the board are dropping. This is mostly due to the fact that nearly all active players in the system are constantly improving, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone to move up.

Oh, and the app doesn’t have a saved players list...and for that reason, I haven’t even used the app yet, so I can’t give it a proper review.

oh my gosh could they make it any more challenging

It’s quite possibly the most complicated app I’ve every used. I made a UTR account and it had none of the scores from my tournaments or team tennis. When I would go to tournaments, the tournament directors would say my scores would by automatically imputed into my account. MY ACCOUNT?? I know that I have an account and the data is NOT on “MY ACCOUNT”. Turns out I do have an account, but I can’t do anything on it (I think the USTA automatically makes one for you when you sign up, but I’m not sure). I don’t have it claimed. Well I’m in the process of trying to delete the account I made and claim my actual account, but I can’t find a way to do that. Plus, if I want to claim my real account I have to put in my email because it’s a new account and an account has an email with it (duh). Well guess what... I used my email to make my other account, and you can’t have two accounts with the same email!! I made a fake email to sign under the UTR I made myself and it didn’t work. Plus I now just have a random email that I’m never going to use. So I’m basically screwed and don’t have a way to use my true account. Sorry that was really confusing, but I hope you can understand my problem here.
Look, the premise of it is cool. Rating everybody on the same scale is useful, but it’s really challenging to claim your true account (which I had no idea existed even though it’s supposedly mine). I just can’t with the whole thing.

Many broken features

First of all the app is great if you want to spend a day out playing tennis. However there are many bugs that can just make everything harder. For the mobile version of the app the “get directions” button always fails me. Never pins or shows the exact location I always have to type it in manually into my gps. Also there are times where I cannot view my draws because it is stuck as TBD (to be decided) I have to log into my computer to see the draws and I think it’s much more time consuming to do so. Although the app is good I think people are too focused on their rank more than getting better.
