The UV Index app that has it all!
UV Index Widget - Worldwide is a handy little app to check the current radiation level from the Sun (the UV Index), the highest UV Index forecast for today, and the forecasted UV Index for the next 7 days, anywhere on Earth. You can also add the UV Index to your Today Screen using the accompanying widget, set notifications for when the UV Radiation exceeds certain levels, and automatically add the UV levels to your Apple Health app.
The app will instantly show the current UV Index (UVI) at your location in an intuitive way. Tap and hold to see the peak UV Index for today. You can also see when the Sun rises and sets, and at what time the UV Index is at its highest level.
7-day hour-by-hour forecast:
The Forecast tab will show hour-by-hour UVI forecast for the next 7 days.
In the Map tab you can select any place on Earth to view the current UV radiation and 7-day forecast for that location. Handy when you are about to travel somewhere and want to get a heads up on the UV radiation level where you are going.
The accompanying widget will show the same information on your Today screen. The widget also displays helpful tips in order to best protect yourself from harmful radiation from the sun.
The app can notify you when the UV Index goes above a certain level. Set the desired UV Index you wish to be notified about, and you will receive a notification if the UV Index at your location goes over this treshold.
Apple Health app:
The app will automatically store the hourly UV Index for your location in the Apple Health app. Open the Apple Health app to view your UV Exposure history.
You can now check the UV Index on your watch. Tap and hold to view todays peak UVI, just as in the iOS app. Or, check the UVI any time right on your favourite watch face, using the included UVI complications. The UVI complication also supports time travel, scroll the wheel to check the UVI any time of the day.
The app will work anywhere in the world, and is a perfect companion whether you are at home or travelling.

Ratings and Reviews
Love this app.
This gets better all the time. The watch app is extremely handy, especially the small complication. Living in Florida with ultra light skin, it’s nice to know at a glance what the Uv is at any part of the day before I go outside. The layout on the phone and watch is plenty informative without getting insane and cluttered. Developer has managed to avoid falling into the “clutter it up trap” most fall into when updating and modifying an app. It’s always crisp and clean with all the data you need without excess or getting complicated. And it looks nice too.

I'm sorry to hear that. Please keep in mind that if you do not subscribe, you loose nothing that you already had. All previous versions updated the forecast data once each day. The subscription adds hourly forecast updates, which has a cost attached to it. Without a subscription or Ads (which I don't want to use) it wouldn't be possible to offer hourly data updates.
Haven’t even had the chance to try it
I genuinely think, at full working capacity, this app would be my godsend. I love the idea of an hourly forecast and push notifications for a customizable UV Index. And as a UX designer, it’s my opinion that this UI looks clean and intuitive, which I highly appreciate.
However, the app doesn’t seem to recognize that I started my 3 day trial. The app store shows I’m subscribed, but the app is still blocking me from accessing premium options. I’d love to try out this app and base my rating off of my actual experience with it after this is resolved.
Edit: It actually seems to be very inaccurate. The app said it was UV 6 when it was actually UV 8. That’s a large disparity. I think I’ll stick to the default weather app on my phone, unfortunately.

This issue should be sorted with version 5.1.2.
For spring break this will be useful we are 3 weeks short for spring break. Iam buying water balloons and will be outside for a long time but I m Japanese and have brown skin so I may be ok we’ll see. Currently with mostly sunny skies here UV index is 6.5 at max.
