Great tho sometimes cumbersome

I really appreciate your customer service with the utilization of this app. It was recommended to me after I called realizing I missed timing on one of your gracious former sent out periodically to give me some off during a given month. This is even better as I’ve learned about the first and 15th I pay attention to those dates and my need for gas. As a financially challenge senior citizen on Medicare, this is a game changer for me even when it’s a little awkward or cumbersome. 🙏🏼

Misleading

The whole reason somebody would download this app would to be save money on gas. Especially during times where the price of gas is extremely inflated saving a bit where anyone can is especially important. This all is misleading and you don’t actually save anything. The only time you do save money is on the initial sign-up where you get the $.20 off a gallon. After you save your debit card to the app, all it does is process your debit card as debit and masks the discount as just the debit price for gas. If you don’t download the app and just charge as a debit card you get the same price. There’s no actual savings. They just mask the $.10 you would normally save by charging debit as in-app savings. The app itself functions fine, no bugs, it’s designed decently. But that doesn’t matter when the core purpose of this app is misleading and not truthful. It is a bit weird that the app does ask for your drivers license as well though. It just seems like they’re trying to harvest and sell data and pretend you’re saving money. It’s not worth your time.

Be careful in NJ

When the App works, this program is great. You can save money. Now that the program has been running, the Valero stations that are identified in the App as part of the program are not allowing customers to use the App. So, you navigate to a station using the App and pull in low on gas and the gas station attendant tells you the App is not working. This seems to be happening all the time in New Jersey. I think that the Local Valero station owners don’t like the Valero Pay corporate program. I am guessing they Lose some profit from this. I have 4 drivers in my family and I am amazed at the number of stations listed in the app that won’t authorize the pump. From now on every time a station listed in the App that refuses to take Valero Pay, I will list it in a new review. Todays winner is Valero in Lumberton - 1543 Rt 38. I think Valero Corp should give them a call.
