VanGo provides rides for your pre-teens and teens with local, vetted drivers. Over 85% of our drivers are moms.
HOW IT WORKS:
— You can request rides anytime, up to 4 weeks in advance. You can request one-off rides or recurring rides, depending on your family’s schedule and exact needs.
— Once you a request a ride, we’ll pair you with a highly vetted, local driver. Over 85% of our drivers are moms! You’ll see your driver’s profile as soon as she accepts your ride.
— When your ride starts, you’ll be able to track it every step of the way (via GPS tracking) and you’ll receive driver arrival, pick-up, and drop-off notifications.
PEACE OF MIND:
— Our drivers go through a best-in-class vetting process, which includes background checks, fingerprinting, reference checks, and vehicle checks.
— 99% of reviewed rides receive a perfect 5-star rating.
— We accept less than 10% of potential drivers, because we’re picking the best caretakers for your family.

Cost way too much!
I just signed up and checked how much it would cost for my son to get transported back and forth to his after school activity which is only 1.8 miles from our home each way. Charge would be $15 each way so I’m looking at $30/day! And he needs a ride 3-4x/week. So I’m literally looking at $90-$120/week for a ride that will only take 5mins each way. If not because of the major crossing of the busy road I would have just made my son ride his bike. That’s how close the place is to our home. VanGo needs to create a better pricing for trips that are reoccurring. I also checked the price to get my son to his hockey practice which is about 24miles and I got a quote for $48! Is $216/week transportation for my son sound crazy or what? I already calculated cost for miles and gas and it’s only at $25 max for d week. At $216 here where we live I can hire a private nanny that can drive my son all over the place and probably even help him with homework. I thought VanGo would help us busy parents ease the burden of transportation for our children without breaking the bank? Wow! Not really very economical for parents looking for a more consistent ride for their kids after school activities.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write feedback! We're really sorry to hear that - all of our drivers are committing to rides in advance, and we’ve tried to strike a balance between making pricing fair to parents, but also fair to drivers. All of our local rides hit a ride minimum, so unfortunately you’re seeing the same price as a ride that’s 4 or 5 miles. For a 24-mile trip that takes about 45 minutes to complete, we want to make sure that drivers are being paid a fair amount as well. We’re hoping to introduce a pooling product in the future that could drive down the cost per family - and that’s something that you can arrange with families in your neighborhood right now. Appreciate your feedback!
VanGo has been a total lifesaver for me and provides peace of mind. Both myself and my husband work in a large metro area and have 9-5 hours so picking up after school is not an option. The school bus no longer drops off near our home so VanGo has made up the difference immensely. Yes, it is costly, but if you can budget it in, it’s worth it. All the drivers have been consistent with no issues and we have repeat drivers who my kid feels comfortable with. The app works just fine however sometimes can be a little confusing if you have a recurring ride that is interrupted by a school day off which seems to result in having to book a single ride which costs more. The app could be improved by have a virtual calendar so you can just touch the dates instead of creating a time frame of days and times.
This app is not user friendly. And if you have more than 2 riders at one time, they cannot be accommodated requiring us to pay an additional $17 for another student when all 3 or 4 could be in one vehicle. It makes me feel as if the limit of 2 per vehicle is by design in order to gain another fare for your company. I realize that the app doesn’t know how to accommodate non-profit organizations and is mostly for parents but please know you’re losing business.
This is really the worst app I’ve ever used because it is counter-intuitive without clear instructions.
And to add insult to injury I have to include a “nickname” and each one I put in is rejected as “taken.” Always too much of my time is spent with this app. Even the review!😡

Really sorry to hear about your negative experience! We do allow up to four passengers per vehicle, but unfortunately right not we're limited to a maximum of two pick-up and drop-off locations on the app. We're working on extending this to four pick-up and drop-off locations, and should have an updated version of the app out in the next 2-3 weeks. We're also re-designing the on-boarding and general ride request flow - so we hope this will make the experience better for you in terms of adding passengers and locations! Excited to hear what you think when this new version is out!
