Vay - rent a car nearby 4+

I was skeptical of how easy it would be

I have to tell you I’m floored at the smooth process it was to rent a car from vay, they brought the car, went over how to use the app to lock and unlock and stopover, were really professional and IT WAS SO EASY! The other best part is how cheap it was, definitely less than half the price of Uber no kidding. The only con I can share about it right now is that there are very limited drop off and pick up areas so if you don’t live close to one of the purple areas on their app, then you have to travel to a purple area to rent a car, other than that I am really really impressed

I have never had a more frustrating experience with a company than I’ve had with Vay. This service is an absolute joke. The cars are unreliable, constantly breaking down or not starting at all, and when you need help, good luck getting through to customer service. Antonela, the representative I dealt with, was completely uninterested in actually solving my issue. It’s like they don’t care about their customers at all.

To make matters worse, Vay has slashed their service areas, now only covering high-tourist zones and leaving locals without any options. So much for being a company that serves the community—they’ve made it clear they only care about tourists. They even brag about their $4.9 million in funding, yet they can't fix their app, their fleet of cars, or offer any sort of reliable service. It's honestly embarrassing.

Oh, and let’s not forget that they pay their workers terribly, (confirmed by thier indeed job postings and disgruntled employees that have shared this with me) which probably explains the lack of effort and terrible service. I was stuck in a car that wouldn’t unlock for *eight hours* overnight, and of course, customer service didn’t answer the phone. It was a nightmare.

I’m never using Vay again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you enjoy wasting time, being stuck in a car that won’t unlock, and being ignored by customer service, then sure, give them a try. Otherwise, steer clear.

Very reliable!!

The service is very straight forward. App was easy to use and the vehicle showed up in no time at all. It’s super useful for when I need to pick up lots of items as I use a motorcycle and it’s hard to get groceris. So Vay makes it easier. I do appreciate the design of this companies vehicles as they don’t look like the clunky auto driving vehicles with tons of cameras and random plastic mounted to the sides and roof. This looks more modern and greatly appreciate the electric factor as I didn’t have to worry about gas.
