VBAN protocol is made to transport audio in native PCM format (16 kHz to 48 kHz - 8 Bits to 24 Bits) on any local network (LAN or WLAN). VBAN Stream can be managed and mixed by Voicemeeter Application, the Virtual Audio Device Mixer (www.voicemeeter.com)

I use dual machines and this let me connect them both to my AirPods Pro over VBAN for free!
This also enables access to the Transparency and Noise Cancellation features with devices which do not natively support them.
If you're trying to do this as well you may have to change the input mic to not use AirPods Pro if you want the full 48000khz 2Ch audio. Mine defaulted to using AirPods mic which took one of the audio channels away for input.
Does not work on M4 on macOS 15
Really wish this worked. I have been a huge user of Voice Meter on the PC. Just got a Mac and wanted to send the audio over.
