You will proceed through ten levels of vocabulary, each level more challenging than the last. For example, Level 1 contains words familiar to about 60 to 70 percent of adults—that is, words known to many high school graduates and most college graduates. By the end of Level 5 you will have raised your vocabulary to about the 75th percentile—the top quarter of all educated adults. By the end of Level 8 your vocabulary will have surpassed that of most executives and professionals, including those with advanced degrees. And when you complete the tenth and final level you will have progressed beyond 95 percent of the entire population. You will command an armory of words that only a handful of people in every thousand can match.

Great way to learn and refine definitions of difficult words
The app offers both written and oral introduction to many words, including nuances in their meaning or connotation. By using the oral component, I have adjusted pronunciation for many words which I have only seen written previously—and now I’m comfortable using them in conversation.
For a good (albeit long-winded) sample of how the app can improve your vocabulary, pronunciation, and usage of English, check out word 30 of Level 2: “verbose.” The narrator delves into a verbose description of the key word and many similar words, eventually defending the title of the app itself.
The pace is quick enough that you can listen to each twice (look in the settings to make this adjustment) and the narrator often tells humorous explanations enabling an understanding of the key words. Perfect for the logofile in each of us!
Useless
Waste of space and download. Garbage experience. Can’t access full list of words. Quizzes don’t have solutions (ridiculous for an app)!
