Description
VersionsManager is a free app that allows you to inspect and optionally delete old 'versions' of your documents that have been stored automatically by your Mac.
Since Mac OS X 'Lion' 10.7, most Mac apps automatically store not only the latest version of any document, but all previous intermediate versions are stored too (see http://support.apple.com/HT202255).
These previous versions can add up to many gigabytes of 'wasted' disk-space since it is common to have many hundred old versions for the files you have been working on. For most files you know that the latest version is 'good' and that you won't ever need access to previous versions anymore. Even if you do need an old version of a file, you can restore old versions if you have enabled the 'TimeMachine' backup-feature of macOS. Also, these old versions are useless as a back-up because they are stored on your main disk and are automatically deleted when you delete the corresponding file.
VersionsManager can display all files which also have additional 'old' versions stored. You can also inspect all old versions and compare them to see what has changed. If you are sure you do not need those old versions you can delete them individually or all at once. If you are are sure you don't need any old versions of your files you can even delete all old versions on you Mac at once, reclaiming gigabytes of space with a single mouse click.

Version Manager 1.1.5 I really like this application and it is very compatible with macOS High Sierre ..... also does not slow down the CPU and Ram of my Macbook .... this application is very fast
VersionManager is a very helpful Tool for everyone that work with Document Types like Office,Txt, and hole other Files that can be edited in Osx.
I didn’t realize how much space duplicates and old versions of files take up on my computer. This app has helped me clear out around 10 GB of space on my HDD and I will be forever grateful as I burn through my HDD space very quickly. I highly recommend this app!!
Great little utility, does exactly what it says
I just reclaimed a few gigabytes of disk space from unwanted old revisions. I already use revision control software for everything important, so Apple's implementation is redudant at best and wasteful at worst. Thank you for making this utility.
A great program; responsive developer support too!
The previous version of this app kept crashing. I contacted the developer and he promptly worked with my crash logs to determine what the problem was. Within 24 hours, a new version was available and ready to install!
The new version (1.1.4) works flawlessly on 10.9.5. This application shows you all the past versions of a saved document (Pages, TextEdit, etc.). It gives you the option to delete some or all of them, and it tells you how much disk space these old versions are using.
An excellent program if you are particularly concerned about the security of your documents!
