Description

Experience a new kind of web browser and help build a smarter internet that refuses to accept the limitations of today. The Viasat Browser learns how to make web pages faster, blocks ads that degrade the experience, and includes a suite of security and privacy features for a more private and safer web browsing experience.

Faster web browsing

We made a faster browser by thinking about the web differently. Already faster than leading browsers, our innovative technology learns how to browse faster the more you use it.

A smarter browser for the evolving internet

Viasat built a smarter way to surf the web. Using artificial intelligence, we rethought how browsers work and invented new technology that figures out how to load web pages faster.

A safe browser to protect your privacy & data

Built upon Chromium, Viasat Browser harnesses the enormous energy of the open source community that is focusing on making the web a safer place for everyone. In addition, web surfing is made more secure by preventing malware and internet trackers from loading.

A browser that helps reduce data usage

We know how annoying wasting data can be. The Viasat Browser was built to help this. Our ad-blocker stops unwanted ads from loading, and a built in Data Saver Mode blocks audio and video HTML5 streams from pre-loading and auto-playing so that you don’t consume data for content that you don’t want to see.

The more everyone uses it, the faster it gets

Viasat Browser is the first browser to crowdsource the internet so that together, we can make it better for everyone. As the community grows, it gets faster and smarter so that together we make a faster Internet.

Please add a Dark Theme (As optional for people)

Please add a Dark Theme as optional please and thank you! I’d be will to change my 4 Stars to a 5 Stars if you can add a Dark Them. Cause its harsh on my eye balls with the White Background with my Severe Stigmatism. (I always had to put the brightness down so I can see more better. But still can’t hardly see anything such as watching my Anime via Web Browser. But I may end up using Google Chrome App cause they have a Dark Theme option.)

Developer Response ,

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. Could you please send an email to browser@viasat.com so that we can follow-up with you. There is a way to support dark mode for desktop browsers (Chrome and Viasat) but I'm not aware of a way to enable this on iOS.

What’s the point of this browser? Deleting the app.

I’ve been using the browser off and on for over 4 months now. At best, it’s as fast as Safari. However, it’s often slower - a lot slower. I frequently have to reload pages because it won’t respond to my touch (which I do not recall ever having to do with Safari).
They’ve recently added an icon indicating the number of ada and trackers blocked. So what. Safari may be blocking the same ads and trackers. I only have Viasat’s word for what they’re doing.
It’s pretty obvious that a number of the “glowing” reviews are little more than advertisements written by employees, family or friends. Viasat should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen.
There’s just no compelling reason to switch from Safari to Viasat. I’ve tried the new browser for a few months now and I just don’t see the point to it. I’m puzzled as to why Viasat would invest capital into a project like this.
I’ll be deleting the app. Viasat’s offer of $100 (or something like that) is not enough to keep me using it.

Hi - Thanks for your feedback. We are in the process of improving the user interface so that users can more clearly see how many privacy trackers and ads are being blocked. Please do try the desktop version, which you may download from https://browser.viasat.com and send us a note at browser@viasat.com with your thoughts.

Goodbye Ads!

I for one really enjoy the privacy features this browser includes. It makes finding episodes online to stream sanitary ☺️! Gone are the days of being bombarded with Ads about weight loss pills, ten things my doctor doesn’t want me know about, and how to lower my mortgage interest rate online.
