Viddle: No Ads Video Browser 17+

The app is fantastic. I particularly love that when in full screen, I can still have subtitles which made me look for alternatives to what I used before and this fit the bill. I also love that Shorts are hidden, as I find them too distracting for me.
If I were to make suggestions, it’s for videos to keep playing when I visit a channel. Having a video stop because I want to explore the creator’s content is annoying. That, and the app doesn’t preserve the homepage. It would be nice that leaving the homepage and returning doesn’t automatically refresh until I do that myself.

Through a day of heavy use (let’s call it 8 individual hour long videos) I got 4, extremely intrusive, full screen ads, that due to their design, feel like they last an eternity longer than any ad YT has made me watch until I could skip it, even if in reality they make you spend the same amount of time looking at the ad. The ads are so intrusive and designed in the most annoying way possible, I would rather sit through whatever YT wants to show me. At least on YT the ads aren’t pop up full screen garbage that makes me wait to then hunt for the X to close it. App lacks basic functionality that are pretty standard in video/streaming apps as well.

In another comment the developer said something about 1.4% of users see an ad and even less see multiple ads in a day is a pretty dubious claim based on my experience. No thanks.

We’d like to clarify that the app currently shows no more than 2 ads per day, even with extended use. Ads are also skippable, and we’ve designed the experience to keep interruptions to a minimum.
That said, we hear your concerns about how the ads feel and are actively working to improve their design and presentation. Your input helps us make the app better, and we’re grateful for it.

Gestures in order of importance imo: back, minimize, close.
Swipe from left side to go back like in any other browser or popular app.
Swipe down on active video to minimize either in mini player or pip. Currently pip is less stiff in placement and offers more controls however it’s forced into what feels like a work in progress MiniPlayer. I mean that respectfully the I see the vision the concept is there but the execution just isn’t ready.
Exiting the app should start pip or at least continue to play in background(for me it tries to play in background but pauses immediately)
Otherwise a pretty smooth alternative with possibly handy built in features for the right person
