Description

Updated to work with macOS Catalina.
UI changes, usability improvements and various bug fixes.

Super simple to use. Just 3 steps:
1. Drag & Drop any video.
2. Set the desired orientation by rotating or flipping.
3. Click Save Video. That's it!

Availability of 2 Modes. Fix Flag / Transcode:
Fix Flag (Quick): Only the orientation flag (rotation tag) in the metadata of the video file is changed, so that the video plays fine in iOS, QuickTime & VLC video players without any need for transcoding which saves a tremendous amount of encoding time for longer videos.
Transcode (Slow) : The video is rotated permanently frame by frame by re-encoding which is compatible with all video players.

The App automatically detects and displays ‘Fix Flag' option only if the input video codec is h.264 or h.265(HEVC) and not flipped, otherwise the video is transcoded with specified settings to play in any video player.

● Any Input Video. Supports almost all input video formats, codecs, containers and file extensions.
● Lossless. Zero loss in quality for ‘Fix Flag’ mode.
● Incredibly Fast. Since there is no encoding involved in ‘Fix Flag’ mode.
● Transcodes only if necessary or specified.
● A high quality, widely compatible .mp4 (H264/AAC) output video gets created for ‘Transcode’ mode.
● Input file extensions supported are : .mp4, .mov, .m4v, .mpg, .mkv, .avi, .dv, .flv, .ts, .mts, .m2ts, .oog, .webm, .wmv, and many more…

Saved a h.265 video as h.264 after rotation

I'm not sure if it's possible to losslessly rotate an h.265 video but I ended up with a an h.264 video and didn't see any option to adjust this.

It rotated fine but prefer to otherwise keep the original h.265 format, so some regret on purchase.

Developer Response ,

Able to address your issue with Version 2.0. Please update and give a try. Will be glad to hear your feedback.

honk.. ,

in a hurry, didn’t have time to write one.

so I had to make a leap of faith on this one, the description needs improvement.
however app did what I wanted correctly, (flipped the flag for an orientation change) with zero loss in quality, (will only work if you have a Mp4 h264 video only…).

Where QuickTime (in some distorted reality field) actually messes this function up if the video is wider than 1080, which is insane for such a simple function, and really set me back in time.

the description should start with the words to the effect, (will have zero loss of quality for very large format videos if video has the h264 codec and you want a 90 degree orientation change)
and thanks, from one developer to another. (hint go with “no loss in quality” rather than “fast mode” in description, we don’t care how fast it is, we care about the end result. of course if the thing is going to take 8 hrs to encode in some situations, you might want to warn about that.

Simple, Easy to Use

The App works as stated, 1,2,3 steps and you’re done! I use iMovie HD v6 because it is most similar to Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro, without the expense. Current version of iMovie HD is dummied down. But, v6 does not have a rotate feature. Video Rotate & Flip to the rescue. A BIG TIP: (especially for SandOwl below). Save your video clip REMOVING the .mov file extension. Pull this version of your clip into the App and Voila!
I also want to comment on the support. I didn’t think of removing the .mov until I was given a demo clip by the Apps support. Their response to my request for help was within hours. Excellent App and Customer Service.
