Changed rules.

It appears this developer has just instituted a program where the previous functions of the software, which they advertised and which we had already bought, are now available only if we agree to steep ongoing dues. I think this bait and switch should be, and probably is, illegal.

I’m shocked Apple allows this. For my part, I intend to submit to the California State Department of Consumer Affairs for further investigation. If my understanding is correct they should be ashamed. If I misunderstand, I welcome hearing from the manufacturer to tell me how to correct this misunderstanding. ?

When I wrote this they sent me a link to a free one year subscription. It did not function. When I wrote an email about that it was not answered.

Ridiculous

This is in no way worth $10 per month. The older versions were one time purchases. You bought the first one, and you got a great app with full features. Then later, you had to pay up to $10 to upgrade to the video version. Cool, you buy a new feature. Still good. They update periodically. Then, they make this one that does the same shoot as the other one, but it’s $10 a month like streaming services. The other version you bought was abandoned. If you didnt have it installed on the phone, you couldnt get it back even though you paid for it. Not unheard of, but do they offer the new version to the legacy customers under the same purchase they had already made like a good company? Nope.
Guys, when you change pricing, it’s annoying, but understandable, but generally, companies stop offering the original price but still honor the price for everyone who had bought it before the change. It could be a little different if it was a whole new functionality, but this is the same thing. This may be technically legal, but it is scummy and I don’t support it.

Change from a one time price to subscription.

Many of us bought this as a one-time purchase of a completely unlimited use product, to then have it updated to only store 20 files and then a monthly subscription to have unlimited storage. The company got greedy and lost a LOT of customers over this.

It’s very disappointing, they have come out with a few versions of the app and I’d bought them because I liked what they were doing, until this… Very shady and disappointing.

Lucky for all of us, there are lots of developers who DON’T do this, so this company can become a relic while more relevant developers make programs that do what we want for a one time purchase price. Word of mouth goes both ways, can help a company, or hurt it. This is a company I’d never recommend.
