Access Data Base Manager

This is a rip off. The description says you can create a data base, create tables, etc. But after you purchase the app you have to make an additional purchase to create a data base and create forms, etc. Then, after the second purchase, you create your database and start adding tables, you can’t edit the tables if you made a mistake in setting it up and you can’t add a record into the database. What use is a database without records?????? I guess for the price I should not have expected too much. I will ask for a refund. And …. when you go to the support page it just takes you to another website to buy more apps.

Hi, thanks for your feedback, and we are glad known you are still using this App nearly ten years. We have described features and in-app purchase features quite clear in App description, we can make the App more affordable to users when using the in-app purchase, and some advanced feature may not relevant to some user only purchase if they need it. The App has been evolved ten years, and we will still invest time to make it better. You can get help in the build-in user guide document, or send us email to get help if you still have questions.

Can’t rate it-don’t have Microsoft Access

This looks like an excellent application, but I should have waited to buy it until I was able to to get the Microsoft Access app on my Mac computer - which I cannot do. I was trying to move a few Microsoft Works 4.0 files (database files e.g. pharmacy records, automobile service records, etc.) from an old Mac computer to a newer one that I use daily. The old Mac still works OK and the MS Works app still works fine, but I don’t know how long either of them will continue to work (plus I just wish I had everything on the newer computer). I have not been able to find an app that can bring those file for use on my newer computer. I certainly should have checked to see if I could use Microsoft Access on my newer Mac, but I didn’t. I do have the updated version of Microsoft Office on my computer, so I thought I would just be able to bring the files into Excel and adapt them into a spreadsheet.

What I am trying to say by writing this “unreview” is, if you are in the same situation as I am, with Mac computers, your first step is to be able to use Microsoft Access on your Mac before purchasing an app to bring your database files from your old Mac to a newer Mac.

Version 3.0 is so much better!

I have been using Access Database Manager for a couple years now. Initially, it was the ONLY program that would oppen my encrypted Access 2002 database files (OpenOffice/Libre Office and everthing else I tried, failed).

At first, it had a lot of bugs. Some of my data was missing or unavailable. The program crashed somewhat regularly, that sort of thing.

However, I do ave to say John Li has been more than gracious when it comes to addressing the bugs. At this point, almost all the problems I had have been fixed with maintenance updates. He has patiently worthed with me to address every single issue. That’s no bull. Thanks John!
