ABOUT THIS PROJECT
VIIO allows you to listen to any written content. Features you'll find on the app includes text-to-speech, pdf-to-speech, web content to speech and image to speech by scanning documents. It uses a narrator’s voice to dictate the content that it’s been given to read aloud.

The non-premium (free) version of VIIO makes use of a normal voice generator, while it’s premium version has a natural-reader for a better experience. We have a variety of features that help differentiate us from a normal text-to-speech (TTS) app, read-to-me app, scan to read app, speak-for-me app, book-reader app or text reader.

VIIO can be used to read text copied from other note taking apps like Evernote, Notability, goodnotes, oneNote and oneDrive. If the text can’t be copied like in the case of apps like Scribd and Goodreads, you can use a screenshot to get the text and pass it to the app. VIIO also lets you convert any documents, PDF, web content and images of text into some sort of audiobook.

VIIO is very helpful to those suffering from reading disabilities such as Dyslexia, ADHD and Anxiety

Great app with minimal glitches and without the useless eye candy.

I still have version 1.2.4, so I cannot speak to the quality/affordability of the premium features. I can’t overstate how much I love this app! It has enabled me to listen to several entire books while doing yard work and other relatively mindless tasks during which I would be otherwise intellectually unproductive. I want to express my sincere thanks to the developers for providing an app with the full functionality of the competition without making me pay a billion dollars (or even a penny) for it. The ONLY thing that needs to change (as of the version I’m using) is that it will stop speaking whenever it runs into ellipses in the text (ie. “…”). Whenever this happens I have to pull out my phone and manually select the word directly after the ellipse, and then it reads perfectly again. Thank you for making an awesome app!

Gives Speechify a run for its money (this app is free for now)

I love this app!!!! This is actually a better quality version of Speechify. And this is free!! (for now). Thank you VIIO team! I hope this app can be for iPad and Mac (laptop for other documents and websites) so that way I can read while I listen!
I just hope your company doesn’t get greedy with its subscription model in the future. As a student, I cannot afford the price point of Speechify. You can always have a student plan (no premium voices + 1 device only) vs a regular plan (choice of 1 premium voice + 1 device) vs a Professional Plan for professionals in the field. (All premium voices + email functionality + website functionality + all devices + another user vs enterprise plan for startups and companies)

Phd student

Currently, I’m a phd student and have alot of readings and I’ve been trying to find a free alternative to Speechify. This is the first app I’ve found that allows me to speed up the audio, have a good voice and design to the app. I run a academic account where I share resources and would love to work with VIIO to share with my followers (~8.3K Currently). (@jasthephdstudent). Couldn’t find a contact anywhere on the internet lol
