Glitches getting worse by the day
iPhone XR completely up to date, yet the app freezes upon opening a majority of the time. Other times it loads up completely but won’t allow me to log into either of my two accounts. And then sometimes I can log in but it rejects my PayPal deposit. When working as it should, it is convenient, but would be better if you could just play over WiFi from anywhere instead of having to Bluetooth to a machine at the store. The app has been completely useless for the last two days and hope an update with fixes is in the works. Will probably delete in the near future if it continues to not let me log in.

We are not experiencing any technical issues with the app that would cause login errors, so we’d like the opportunity to help troubleshoot the problems you are experiencing.
Regarding PayPal, if your PayPal account is linked to a credit card, the deposit will be rejected as we are not permitted to accept credit cards. You can use a debit card or add a debit card to your PayPal account and select that option at the time of deposit through the app. While we understand the optimal convenience for you would be to purchase from your mobile device from anywhere, current Virginia law restricts the scope of our mobile device offerings. If you continue to have problems with your app, please call our customer service at 804-692-7777, option 4 and they can help you troubleshoot the issues.
Great Concept but Poor Functionality
I have an IPhone Max and this app does not allow FaceID to login. Every time you go into the app you have to login, it does not keep you logged in. Sometimes the app just doesn’t work at all, I will open it and all I see is a blank screen and sometimes the winning numbers aren’t shown. Very slow and sluggish once you are able to sign in. I find it very frustrating that I easy pick my numbers then if I get an error message when the app is searching for the Bluetooth signal, I loose those numbers and have to start all over again and loose my easy pick numbers.
You would think that all the money that VA lottery pulls in that they would have the best developers to create this app with the best technology so this app will work flawlessly. At this stage this app is just a Prototype, there is no reason why in 2019 that an app has this many issues. Maybe the whole team needs to go back to the drawing board and maybe involve customer suggestions to help build a more efficient and fun app for the customers. Take your time with it and don’t let the push to prod date be a factor. I would rather wait longer for a great quality app instead of the “putting the lipstick on the pig and shoving it in approach” b/c that only hurts VA Lottery and does not help the customers hence this app’s ratings.
Worst App ever!!
At first, it seemed like a good idea to create an app for va lottery players. It’s a chance to complete your transactions on your phone to elevate going into the store. Upon trying the app I find out that you have to be near a lottery retailer for the app to connect via Bluetooth. So, I still have to go to the store to use app which takes the fun out of playing on your phone. Once you win on one of the instant scratch offs, you don’t receive your money as you will at retailer. It takes 3-5 business days to get your money. Playing the draw games is even worst. I hit for 400 on pick four and instead of having a barcode of some sort to take to retailer, they send your winnings trough a debt claim department and if you owe money(taxes, child support, student loans) they will take it. It’s not right being that you can take a 400 dollar winking ticket to any lottery retailer and cash it with no screen ad long as it’s not over 600. Then, if you receive your money after screen, you’ll still have to wait 3-5 days to get your money where it shouldn’t be like that. Overall, I really dislike the app on the fact that it’s so inconveniencing to the player.

The MobilePlay feature within the app not only allows you to play our draw games while at a Lottery retailer, but also offers new e-games, which are only available for play on the Virginia Lottery app. The app is designed to provide players the ability to use a new self-service purchasing option that removes the need to stand in line, fill out playslips, or keep tickets in order to redeem winnings, while offering a new style of game play with e-games. Additionally, other features allow you to check to see if a ticket is a winner, enter second chance drawings and more.
The Lottery is required to conduct Debt Set-Off checks for any prizes we pay over $100. Prizes between $100 and $600 must go through that additional processing by the Lottery. They typically will be deposited into the player wallet within 5 – 10 minutes. Prizes over $600 also must go through the additional processing and then will be mailed to the player via check.
