Description

Did you ever experienced a situation where people use the same terms with different meaning? Whether at work, at home, at school or at university? Or people used different terms for the same meaning?

Concept Maps take the terms/words/concepts and explain them via their relationships to each other. You can then phrase each relationship by formulating a whole sentence and get a correct/wrong feedback from those you discuss it with.

Use concept maps to align on terminology and to describe the problem or situation. I recommend to use Concept Maps for every project start up. Concept Maps are great to explain key elements of the project to new joiners.

You can as well use Concept Maps for learning, understanding, communication and studying. Put down your understanding in a concept map and review with others. Expand the Concept Map over time if needed.

Vithanco Concept Maps is a dedicated editor for Concept Maps. Some features are:
* Ensuring correct structure of maps
* Autolayout - no need to waste your time on moving boxes
* Change relationships with easy drag and drop
* Keyboard controls
* Darkmode supported (requires macOs 10.14 Mojave)
* Export to PDF, JPG and PNG
* Import von CXL files (can be created by CMapTools)
* Files are compatible with the generic Vithanco app
* Cluster parts of the concept map (allows un-/folding of clusters)
* Design your own node styles in order to adjust the Concept Maps. See other Vithanco applications for possibilities.
* Zoom in and out
and much more.

Of Limited Use

Where other reviews have made distinctions between 'thinking' and 'layout' tools, my experience is that the best tools for making relational diagrams have capabilities that support visualized thinking (logical relationships and quick brainstorming) as well as layout features that help organize and visualize relational and systemic concepts. This product is rudimentary in all these areas. It shows promise in its approach to layers of information depth in nodes, but lacks flexibility in diagramming, which is essential for me in this category of tool. I can understand how it might be useful in some specific situations or work styles, and can also see how with some enhancements it could greatly broaden its usefulness – and probably its adoption. In its current state, there are better options for me in the same category.

Developer Response ,

Thank you very much. I am interested in improving this tool. Would you please point me in the right direction? What feature are missing? What would you like to see? Please send me an email to support@vithanco.com. Any suggestion will be taken in thankfully. Thanks again, Klaus

Too basic, useless

It is too basic. It only have 2 type of boxes and you can not rearrange or modify the position of the boxes. No colours, no font options, no flexibility.

Developer Response ,

Dear Coyote Wireless,

This tool is intended to be simple and only focused on doing one thing well. However, you will find that the latest version has more options. Please let me know whether this is better suitable for you or what I should add. Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Klaus

Focus on Concepts, Not Layout

Provides a real thinking tool, allowing the user to focus on identifying concepts and relationships and to not waste time and focus on layout. It's completely different from most software in this regard, so there can be a slight learning curve for some. If you are trying to solve a complicated problem and don't know where to start, let me suggest that you start here.
