New update is meh

Last version had a type of auto grouping if I am not mistaken, now everything is scattered and forces you to create your own playlist. Fine. But then inside the playlist files are not organized in any matter I can tell.

If I added a folder of files via iTunes file sharing then i would expect them to remain grouped within the app. This is not the case.

If I need to create my own playlists from now on to group items I need a way to sort the playlist.

Developer Response ,

You are right, the automatic grouping is gone (for now). This is the most requested feature in App Store reviews after release and we are discussing how to do this in future releases. Same for folder grouping.

Download Progress Display?

I should preface by saying that I love the VLC app. It’s been one of my most used apps for a few years. I got the update on my iPhone 8 Plus (12.4.1) today and tried downloading a video from my Plex server and didn’t have the download progress bars that I used to have. I had no way to know if the video was downloading. In the end, I ended up with 4 copies of the video on my device. Could you please fix this? Also, I do miss having TV shows being automatically placed in their own folder. Maybe they could be placed in an auto-generated playlist? I appreciate all of the work you all put into this fantastic app!!!

Developer Response ,

Yes, we will fix both the grouping and the missing download UI. Thanks for your feedback!

My main problems and concern

So I like the previous UI , but manly because once I sorted a video into a playlist it would go to that play list and stay there now it’s almost impossible for me to sort any new videos I upload to it sense the videos stay wheee there at instead of going to the playlist like the previous UI had , other than that, this would be a perfect app, but now it’s just useless especially sense I can’t sort it by name because there man title by a bunch of random numbers and letters, is this going to get fix when it come to sorting videos

Developer Response ,

Hmm, we will improve that shortly. Stay tuned.
