VoiceThread 4+

This is truly the most annoying and worst app I think I use out of all of my apps. My school has to use this and it drives me crazy. First of all you can’t even go into landscape mode so most often when I’m trying to look at my PowerPoint they’re tiny and I can’t see anything, there’s also not a volume button. It is constantly logging me out, and I have to go back in through canvas because it won’t actually except my login information which is incredibly annoying. There is no user functionality whatsoever and I literally can’t stand using this app. Also it doesn’t allow for background app so if you ever click out of the screen, it stops what you’re doing and you have to go back in and go through the process all over again which once again takes time and is annoying. I feel like these are easy fixes, and if anyone cared about their job, they would want to change this, but it’s like they don’t even care. VoiceThread please do some updates, your users who pay lots of money deserve it.

This app has been broken for over a year (it is 2024 right now). It will not open assignments, it brings you to a blank page. My university knows this, is aware of it, and continues to use it. They told me to get a windows device :/. VoiceThread doesn’t allow you to use a web version on iPhone or iPad, rendering them useless for VoiceThread assignments, which I have 2x a week. Now the app also says it is out of date, and to update the app. However, the last ‘update’ was 7 months ago! If any universities read this - please rethink using this and find something else. It is broken and needs to be discontinued. You are only isolating students further.

That’s the bar. We’re as low as we can go. Worst app I’ve ever used. It just flat out doesn’t work. And the web interface is only a TINY bit better because at least it functions (more or less). I’m actually pretty mad that my grad program decided to use such a clearly terrible app (did they not even bother to check any reviews?) Honestly, this shouldn’t be a surprise. I’ve been wholly underwhelmed with the effort and quality on the part of my grad program (but what do they care, they get their [my] money, right?), and now I’ve got the low effort, low quality mandatory app to match.
