I've found this app to be easy to use and well thought out. Being able to use a historical list of previously purchased items saves a lot of time. The main list has items grouped together logically for the most part. For the occasional item that can't be found, the search function works well.
My main gripes are 1) that the function buttons at the bottom of the window get in the way. It would be better to move them to the top of the window to make it harder to accidentally bump them. And 2) If you do accidentally bump one of those buttons, it's not easy to go back to where you were. A simple "back" button is needed that will take you back to where you were. Right now, if you bump one of those buttons at the bottom of the window it takes three steps to get back to the list you were on but you still need to scroll through the list to get back to where you left off.
A couple more things: The check-out process for the new version of the app seems more cumbersome than for the old version. Not sure exactly why. Also, an increasing number of items are showing as being "unavailable". Some of these I regularly purchased for the last couple of years and now they have been unavailable for two to six weeks. I'm beginning to think something is wrong with the unavailable listing system in the app.
Overall, though, the app works well.
Wasted more than an hour of my time
With everything going on right now and with the stay at home order in place, delivery has become incredibly useful and nearing essential for some. I looked up many delivery options and vons delivery was not only cheaper but actually had a delivery time available for that very afternoon! I decided to give this a try, taking some time to fill my cart on an order about $200. The issue took place at checkout. All of my info is set, including payment except for my name. I go to the screen where I add my name and phone number and hit save and review. My phone number saves but name name will not. I tried it countless times and I can not complete my order because of this. Live chat did not have a live person(during appropriate hours, according to the app) and the robot was of no help at all. I was on hold for 30 minutes at least for a woman to keep telling me that I have to add my name in the website but there’s absolutely no way for me to do this. We go step by step for her only to conclude that it’s an ongoing issue with the app. She tells me to try again in a couple of hours but I’ll probably lose my delivery time window. This was the whole point of me trying so hard... to get this delivered today! Now reading much older reviews it looks like to me they just refuse to fix the issues. Never again.
I have to have grocery delivery due to health issues. I have to say, this is quite literally the worst app ( and website)I have ever used.
Today, the problem was not being able to check out. Also, I wanted to order some red delicious apples, but the app just kept showing that broken circle, like, duh, “can’t find the apples”. I think it would be a good thing to send emails prior to delivery to show what items were out of stock. I simply wouldn’t put an order in for something you don’t even have! I have the same problem searching for an item I’ve been ordering forever and the app says search results show 0.
I really need my groceries but I put off ordering because I always have some sort of problem with the ordering process and I really get anxious just thinking about it. I tell friends and family not to shop Vons delivery. You’ve lost a customer because of the horrible app and the fact that the customer service phone # never gets answered. On hold forever till I just hang up. But I guess that’s what you count on. If there really is a customer service contact phone option, the employees behind this should be monitored, maybe fired because they make the words “ customer service” a joke. Shame on you! Have you noticed your rating lately? 1.7 out of 5. I would rate it less than that!
