This app is terrific for normal use. If you need to find a train, this app will help you do that easily. The app is also good about displaying schedule changes that are planned well in advance - no service, scheduled S-days, etc.However, the short-term alerts and status info could be improved. The app regularly does not show delays and the twitter interface rarely works. My train was 1.5 hours late the other day, but according to the app, I should have been at my destination already. I don't know if the problem is with VRE not putting out the updated status info or the app not pulling it correctly, but either way, that area could use improvement.

This app is very useful for the VRE commuter. The problem is it is very unstable and crashes constantly, whether it's refreshing to update the times or changing screens. Also, doesn't exactly work as advertised. App will not locate the nearest station. It's also not realtime. It will not update for train delays and such. But it will take you directly to the VRE status webpage. Finally, since it's written by a third party software designer, don't expect immediate, if any customer service. Users have been pleading for a new update for over six months to no avail.

It deserve 5 stars because of the convenience for schedules. However, after certain update it crash every time you open it or you try to set up schedule. Also, it would be great if from the line view instead of hiding past trains, just simply change color (e.g. graded out). Sometimes you just simply want to check the entire schedule, but the schedule tab is not that friendly to use, while the main View provides for better.

I can never remember train numbers or schedules, and now I don't need to! Tech tip: If your home screen is blank, check to see if the gps feature is enabled. I had to disable it to see my trains...probably because I was so far from the station.

I used to really love this app! But it does not seem to be supported any longer. Whenever I try to open it it immediately crashes. My favorite feature of this app was the live train status map. You could see where each train was on their routes, in real time. I wish that either they would update this app so that it works properly or add the real time train status map to the VRE mobile app

Downloaded when I unexpectedly needed to ride the VRE. I'm generally a driving commuter. The app provided instantaneous information and helped me navigate times and stations as I made my way home. Highly recommended. Next step is mobile tickets, I hope.
