Missing One Feature/Quit Working
Updated: 05 June 2018
This application stopped working for me with the iOS 11.3 update. After login, the application immediately crashes. iOS 11.4 experience is the same. Reinstalling the application didn't fix the issue. The issues with this application are a shame - the blood pressure monitor is fantastic; the application leaves much to be desired. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. What good is an application which crashes?
This application does a great job tracking your blood pressure, but for the iPhone there is an obvious miss: no ability to feed the blood pressure data into the Apple Health application. I use Health for other aspects of my fitness, and was disappointed to see that the Walgreens Connect application is not one which I can select as a blood pressure data source. If this can be resolved, this application would be remarkable. Considerable updates were made recently, which make this monumentally more useful than in times past.
Why do companies do this? Release a product and continue to advertise it knowing they haven’t fixed any bugs or updates in over a year. I have a One Touch blood glucose meter and I love it. But my insurance has forced me onto True Metrix test strips. I bought the Walgreens True Metrix AIR Bluetooth meter. My old iPhone would recognize it, but would not pair with it. My new iPhone XR, the Walgreens app won’t even recognize the meter as a compatible device. Hopefully Walgreens will let me return the meter in open box. I rely heavily on smart devices as most do these days. Entering blood sugar results manually 5-8 times a day is a pain. The company that created the blood sugar logbook I use offers unlimited strips & Bluetooth meter for $20 a month. Guess I’ll pay out of pocket since my insurance will only pay for this unexceptionable Walgreens meter.
Bluetooth won’t connect
I read through some reviews on here and I am sad to say they seem to be true. Bluetooth keeps showing error in the app even when I see it on my phone as a connected device. I just called the help line and was told they are doing an update. Was also told this update has been going on for a week and no idea when it will be done. I was told Walgreens will send users an email when the app is up and running. So, basically just bought a BP cuff primarily for the Bluetooth capability and that function doesn’t work. So, do I return it and look for one that does have working Bluetooth capability? At least the BP cuff itself is working and seems accurate. I checked my BP with a different cuff and got similar readings. I gave it 3 stars just because all of the other features do seem to be working.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
