App could be more thorough
Walkie talkie function is cool in theory if the hardware integration was better. The walkie talkie function only works if you pull out your phone and hold down the button on the screen - not the headphones. It would be cool if all I had to do to use the walkie talkie function was press down on the earbud so I could respond to someone while snowboarding... cuz I can’t pull out my phone to talk to someone while going down a mountain.
Also, if I’m listening to music through the earbuds, and someone tries to contract me via walkie talkie, it doesn’t come through. I had the app open, but the music function doesn’t seamlessly allow someone to contact me. So theoretically, someone would have to text me telling me to hop on the walkie talkie function. And I’d have to see that text and open the phone app to communicate with someone.
It’s a shame the developer doesn’t seem interested in improving the app... this could be a really rad product. But right now it’s kind of a glorified set of Bluetooth headphones...
Fail. Walkie talkie doesn’t work
My family was gifted the Chips 2.0 and we were stoked to use the walkie talkie feature on a trip to Colorado, but we couldn’t get the original app to work. Not a big deal since it was so great to have for music, but it was still a disappointment.
Fast forward a couple years, the newest version of the app, and some confidence the issue was fixed, and we still couldn’t get the walkie talkie function to work on a trip just a couple of weekends ago.
The other big problem is what the previous reviewer already stated. If there are multiple people within Bluetooth range around with Chips, there is no way of knowing which set is yours when you try to connect them to Bluetooth or the app. There needs to be some way of identifying each set.

Fail. Strike 2.
I was hopeful for this one. I figured by starting from scratch, it would be functional. But no. Observation 1: can’t rename each ODT Chips 2.0, so if more than 1 set is on, there is no way to distinguish one from the other in the app. So I made sure only one at a time was on as I set them up. Was able to create a group of me + wife. Was able to make it work with the PTT button on the phone/app. So far, so good. Tried pressing the right chip speaker, and it never was detected by the app. Without that function, it’s useless.
Using an iPhone X and Xr. Both on iOS 12.1.
I spent an hour in my living room trying to make this work. Unless this thing is easy to set up and use (set up could use some instructions), no skier will use it. DISAPPOINTED.
