Wall Street Oasis 12+

There is so much information and content per category, I admit, it’s still somewhat overwhelming, but I interpret it as a good thing. When I’m overwhelmed by information it’s a strong reminder of how little I know and the pursuit is all about the journey. Really has so much insider type information. Since I’m in college — what really stuck out for me are the college charts showing how they stack up year to year and how the Buldges or EBs tend to hire. It’s also great to be able to interact with monkeys that are current/former finance employees which is really hard to come by while in college which is the furthest thing from reality. Awesome stuff!

WSO is an amazing app if you’re good at sifting through information and know what advice to take. Sometimes it can seem exhausting and it can feel like a lot of people on the app are just other college students who are giving advice on subjects they don’t fully understand, but if you have patience you’ll find other who offer amazing advice on the finance field. Thankfully, WSO has an indicator showing a user’s experience in finance. This proves most useful when you’re viewing responses to a question. Because of this indicator the app is amazing and you can seek advice from well experienced individuals in finance.

As a college student recruiting for IB and other high-finance jobs, it can be really confusing which technicals to study, what the timeline is, how to set up coffee chats, etc. The app has a lot of information so it can be a bit overwhelming at first. Once you get the hang of it though, it’s really easy to find advice on any topic related to finance. I personally found it useful when trying to figure out how to network with professionals and what certain banks look for in candidates.
