Fun for those nostalgic for Missile Command

I didn’t realize this game has been in the App Store for so many years. This game is definitely a visual and auditory feast. It’s fun for what it is especially those into the old school Missile Command. A few nits though. There’s a fairly useless graphic on the left side that tends to mask an incoming missile. I can’t figure out how often the missile launchers get resupplied. It seems random. And that gets to be an issue at higher waves. I have not been able to get past wave 33 or 34. And if somehow I did I wouldn’t last much longer. At that point you’re overwhelmed with incoming missiles while I’m only down to a handful of missiles. The game seems designed with a limited number of waves, making it impossible to reach 40 waves.

Great Visuals, just ok algorithms

There is no doubt that this game is visually and audibly stellar. Gameplay using touch is really easy. My main observation is that the algorithms for gameplay make it difficult to get past wave 27 to 30. You don't get routinely resupplied even if you clear the board with no losses. Also the parachuting bombs have little collateral affect most of the time. And the nuclear bombs usually come at the end when the board is pretty much cleared so they have little value. I don't understand having a nuclear palm come down after the board is cleared. Additionally on the left-hand side the HUD (which provides zero value) masks incoming missiles so it's hard to see them resulting in a missile silo being destroyed. I really do like this game, it's just that the algorithms could be tuned to allow the skilled player to have a better chance of prolonged game play, because no matter how good you are, you won't get resupplied enough to have enough ordinance to beat back the attacks. This game has potential for way more addiction. For now, it's a nice distraction once in a while.

Not bad and free

Fun to play if you miss Missile Command. Just don't like starting from the slow beginning each time. It is free though! Missile command app is awful, so glad there is this option. If anyone remembers Polaris...that was the best. Had to choose which base to fire from and combos were more important. This is a good game though. Fun to play.
