Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight 12+

Beautiful game to fly in and good gaming action. Doesn't support any joysticks I could find for Mac including basic Thrustmaster. Wish they had expanded controls setting option for landing gear, flaps, etc. Controls are backward by default for some reason. You normally pull back on yoke to elevate but on this it's reversed. Go to setting and invert Y axis so when you go backward with mouse, plane gains altitude. All that aside the developers have done an amazing job with the graphics within a small download. Hope they expand capabilities to include landing, takeoff, more controls and tougher oponents.

This game is fun, but, it gets old and boring after a while! On my 2018 Mac Mini w/ i5 and only 8GB RAM, the game plays smoothly. I do believe I am connected to their web-site and a few times the action can jitter, but, it is not my Mac Min as other more graphic intensive games and apps, run smootly. The big let-down is when you build up your aircraft collection and learn how to deploy, fly, fight and setup/instruct each aircraft with it's engagement priorites. I wish it had more missions to select as well as more selectable levels of difficulty. The enemy often does stupid things like fry right in front of you as if doing casual pleasure flying and makes for an easy and non-authentic target. Once you master this game and it wouldn't take long, you begin to acquire more gold you that can't use any longer because you own all of the purchasable aircrafts already! What's the sense of having lots of gold after that? I think the developers really need to update/improve this game and do it soon. Once they do, it will hopefully be a 5 star game for certain and certainly increase its popularity. I'd pay for this game if it had more to offer. Right now, it is best for FREE only!

This is really a game and not a sim. I really wanted to like it, but the game lacks joystick or game controller support. It is difficult to fly with a mouse or keyboard until you get used to the idea of "flying the reticle." You have to move your mouse as though you are pointing the targeting reticle on your target. Pull the move down to go down; push the mouse up to climb. Completely backwards from what you would do in any other game that support a joystick. Realistic action would have you pull the mouse to climb and push the mouse to dive. Left and right translation are Ok.

The graphics are good and game play is fine. The scenarios are fairly easy, but the extended scenarios are difficult. There really isn't an in-between. If you want extra stuff, then you have to get experience "coins" to "upgrade." You get "gold" and "silver" for completing missions. You can "buy" things with the game currency to get more capability. There is also a "store" to pay real money for extensions.

Not too bad, but the lack of joystick capability is bad. There is a "Controller" feature in the Game Settings, but it doesn't recognize my USB game controllers or joysticks.
