Descrição

Watch Tracker is a revolutionary app for tracking the accuracy of a wristwatch. It's dramatically easier and more accurate than any previous method.

Just tap a button when the time on your watch matches the time displayed by the app, and Watch Tracker does the rest. It synchronizes with an atomic clock, measures and records the difference, and displays graphs of all the data points you've recorded.

- Uses best-fit analysis to accurately calculate how many seconds your watch gains or loses per day
- Displays graphs of rates and variance
- Can track multiple watches simultaneously
- Saves data in CSV files that can be opened with any spreadsheet software

Watch Tracker is made by the developer of tChess (the chess app that was featured in Apple's "Learn" commercial for the iPad) and Learn Chess (the Apple Staff Favorite e-book).

Definitely a worthwhile app

I was hesitant to purchase this app given it’s been 3 years since it’s last update. I didn’t want to purchase another orphaned app with no support or updates, so I reached out to the developer prior to purchasing to express my concerns. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt response from the developer who assured me the app is fully supported having a full feature set meeting the needs of his user base. He also stated in the event a future iOS update caused any issues he would promptly address any problems that arose. He also hinted some small enhancements may be coming in the future. Based upon this exchange I purchased the app and while I’ve only been using it a couple of days I can confirm it’s definitely more effective and streamlined than the timing method I’d been using. WatchTracker’s definitely a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to better understand how the watches in their collection are performing. I’m looking forward to any future updates the developer may have in mind.

So far so good

So far am really liking the app over what I was using, I have a Timegrapher to check various positions of my watches so I can regulate for best accuracy but this app gives you a good bit of info on accuracy while wearing and resting positions

There is a small amount of human error involved as you have to tap the screen at a certain point in time and you could be off by a guess of +/- .5 secs as I don’t believe it’s possible for you to tap at that exact moment in time but none the less it gives you some very good useful info and some of the key features are you can track over a long period of time.

The app developer is very helpful in answering questions and taking suggestions which is great, there are a few changes I would like to see but if they never came I would still use the great little app

Very erratic results

Edit June 13, 2020
I ended up to I sticking with this app and I’m glad I did. I think the problems I had earlier somehow had to do with what happens when the minute hand moves past the minute marker but the seconds are not there yet. Hard to explain. Now I let the app decide the minute and make the measurement but the second hand and that works. It has a lot of nice features that the others I’ve used done, like the comments.

Original review: I’ve been trying out this for a month or so and either all of my watches are extremely erratic, or this app doesn’t work. I do a timing on a watch for days or even longer, and get a nearly straight line for that run. Then I do another timing run, and I get a zig zag line, flunctuating by double or triple the amount of the first. Sometimes, it’s vice versa. So after more than a month, I have no clue as to how my watches are running. I recently heard in a watch channel, about another app, so it’s time to delete this one and give the other one a try.
