In a limited way this app basically does what it says, but the description is too brief and unclear. It will show you stats on computer use as indicated, but only when the computer being monitored is running and the user is logged into their account. You can’t view that information when the computer is off or the user logged out. That just doesn’t work for me. In the words of the developer, “The app saves the data under the user account, and accesses it when that user is running.” None of the data is transferred to the app itself, not even basic time use. As far as I’ve been able to tell, It also does not allow you to toggle features on and off. For instance, I don’t want screenshots enabled. I don’t want to see my teenager's diary entries and I don’t want them thinking I’m doing so. Some things are private (unless there is just cause for a child’s safety to see that data). As it stands, I can’t recommend this app and I won’t be using it. Fortunately, I only wasted $2.99. Unfortunately, I wasted too many hours of my time with it.
Rubbish: My kid deleted it in < 24 hours
Complete waste of money. I monitored the computer for less than a day before my son deleted the program. Thanks for nothing hobbyistsoftware.
Developer Response ,
Hi, there are two things you can do here:
1) You can set your kid up with a limited account on windows where they are not allowed to uninstall apps.
2) You can ban them from the computer if they uninstall watchover.
I'm afraid no app will help you if you let them simply ignore your authority.
Watchover isn't spyware, it is a normal app - it is based on the idea that your kids know you are monitoring them, And that that is part of your parenting style/agreement.
It just wasn't what I thought it was.
This is not a monitoring app for monitoring iPods. It monitors desktop or iMac computers and shows u usage on those devices. I was disappointed because I thought it would let me unlock some of the parental controls on my kid's iPod touch, but still be able to keep an eye on her. Very disappointed as well.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
