It helps if it’s for you

If it helps to write about your problems, get “hugs” (instead of likes) and a few comments, then this is for you. I think ymmv on your experience, but for me, it’s been pretty good. I make my posts short and to the point and I usually get “hugs” right away and they trickle in for about 6 hours. I get comments about half the time from a couple people, more if I ask a specific question.
The experience of helping other people is helpful, too. It helps me feel more capable in general, able to help myself, and altruism is just good for you when you feel helpless or depressed.
One drawback is that it’s hard to make friends, or at least I haven't got a handle on that functionality. I don’t see how to follow people who comment on your post. There’s no PMing or friends list, as far as I can see. Keeping the convo public is good when you want accountability and anonymity, but I do wish I could talk to the same people and make friends.
Also, there’s only about 8 tags for posts and they’re set by the app. This extremely limits the function of the app. There’s no other way to search for posts or create a feed. Kind of kills the usage or any way to create community and makes you feel like you’re just standing in a warehouse shouting at people milling around.

Friends

This is a great app, such friendly people and it really does help. I’m writing this review because I have a suggestion. I think making a friends list and an option to chat one on one with someone would be wonderful. And extremely helpful. I would up this app to 5 stars if you all could make this happen. I know I’m not the only one asking for this. I’ve seen several similar comments. When you feel comfortable enough with a person. You might want to share details of your life you may not want everyone on the app to see. Thank you so much if you would do this for us.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the kind words. Private chat is in the works and will be released soon.
Thanks

Helpful

People on here are so supportive but I don’t really enjoy that some people use this app just to get attention. They say they’re gonna cut themselves if people don’t talk to them. Also some people just use it to talk about unnecessary things like some girl was talking about how she watched a show with her “dom” and she’s not allowed to watch more than one episode a day and she posted a picture of her thighs. What does that have to do with cancer, mental health, diabetes, heart disease, chronic pain, substance abuse, or relationship issues?
