Editors’ Notes

Once again, the creators of The Human Body and Simple Machines have turned playtime into a rich learning experience. Tinybop’s sandbox-style app lets kids experiment to their hearts’ content—seeing what happens when they move the sun, whip up winds, and cause rainstorms. A zoomed-out view illustrates the broader water cycle at work, while fascinating closeups show things like the effects of changing temperatures and strengthening tornadoes on everyday life. We also dig the detailed study guide offering extra info and discussion ideas.
