  • Incredibly Smart App!

    Rebekah435

Driving through the Siskiyous this app was critical to my timing, planning, and snow chain awareness! Only things i wish I could customize which would allow me to fully utilize the app are the alert/ next turn color, since bright orange at night was too much for me, and the voice- wow- i lasted about 15mins before changing back to google maps for navigation lol but the orange was eating at me the entire time. With those 2 changes i would have used this app to navigate the entire trip!

Hey, thanks for the review. We have made the following changes in version 2.4.01. The directions card color is now neutral in CarPlay2. A new high quality voice for weather updates. We still use old voice system for directions (as it needs to work offline), but we are looking into how we can adjust it for better quality voice. You can also change it manually in Setting app → Accessibility→ VoiceOver and select one that works better for you.

  • Awesome!

    PhotoFanatic

Flying is awful these days, so I'm doing more long road trips. It's *super* helpful for traveling in the winter months to find days when there won't be snow. For other months, being able to pick dry pavement days is awesome. You can adjust the departure time, and it updates weather conditions at multiple points along the trip route as you change the departure time. Great app!

  • As a trucker this saves me time

    Flamin_Amon

This app is a major time saver for cross country driving. The time it took me to manually parse each states weather databases was significantly longer than letting this do the heavy lifting. Truckers need to know about this. If you see there are severe alerts on your route you can compare routes and also best times to depart in order to heat or miss wait out the weather.

  • Must have app on long road trips

    Vik0101

Well I have been using this app for over 3-4 years or more, and so many times this app saved me going through extreme weather about to cross on my way on 65S in Alabama, one time I was driving from KY to NYC and I was closely watching the weather on this app and avoided snow squall near Morgantown. I have so much trust in this app and will be using it in every of my long trips.

  • Very helpful for Crossing US

    Rick G

Used it for a winter crossing by car of the US. The format for the projected weather at multiple points on the route was very effective. UI is well thought out. It also allowed me to select routes and future departure times based on winter weather severity and other visibility warnings. Will use it again for road trips.

  • Not at all accurate for road conditions

    Elec81

OnTheWayApp gets one thing right: temperature forecasts and the “chain up / carry chains” zones were accurate. That’s it.Everything else has been unreliable. Multiple times on high-mileage trips this past week, the app showed clear road conditions and clear weather when that was absolutely not the case. It repeatedly failed to flag the stuff that actually matters for travel—slick and icy roads, fog, snowy conditions, and other hazards you need to know about before you commit to a route. If you’re using this to make real trip decisions, don’t. Verify conditions through official state road and weather sites instead. This app has failed every single time I’ve needed it.
